"Here's looking at you kid" - Casablanca

This summer I will be going to Portugal. On the way back I could get a reasonable business ticket if I stopped over at Casablanca. I am considering staying for 2 days.
Questions for well traveled CC’ers:

  1. is it safe for a woman to travel by herself?
  2. Recommendations on where to stay - I will pay up for a safe, nice hotel, at a central location
  3. any tours, prefer single or very small tours.
  4. must sees
