I’m thankful for my S, who came home from the hospital last night. Although on IV meds and still in pain and weak, he is showing signs of improving. I’m also thankful for my D, despite our recent falling out, because she is responding to requests for help and has done so without an attitude. I’m very thankful for my dh, who took charge of S’s IV meds and slept on a mattress on the floor in S’s room last night. My own meds leave me a little too brain fogged for me to feel confident that I could administer S’s meds 100% correctly. I’m thankful for good medical insurance, as the new meds that S was prescribed today cost $1K, and when D picked them up she only had to pay $50. It looks as if the ins. will cover all but about $3K of S’s medical bills for the past 6 wks. I’m thankful that my old van still runs well and I can drive it for another year.

Finally, I’m thankful for this forum. It was a huge help when I needed to vent. It’s also been a good source of both information and humor.

I’m thankful that my swim practice this morning wasn’t as gut-ripping-hard as I thought it would be. I’m also thankful that my mom is a good cook! I can just taste the turkey already…mmmm…

I am thankful for my parents - both of whom have college degrees, my father a doctorate - for guiding me, inspiring me, pushing me (and funding me!) to move forward with my education. :)

We have a Thanksgiving table cloth. Every year we write what we are thankful for on the table cloth. This year DS wrote “I’m thankful for surviving a year at Caltech”. I wrote that I’m thankful for the years we spent in our Oakland house(we’re moving Dec 7 if all goes according to plan).
