Herlead Fellowship 2020

@artivist247 Did all the people that got an email get accepted, or have there been rejection emails?

Is it by location? Or is it just sent out in waves randomly

@dancer128 I’m beginning to suspect it’s by location? Maybe…I feel like they have to have some method to this.

I sent them an email about it. They normally respond pretty quickly so I’ll let all of you know when I hear back.

I thought maybe it was based on the priority of the applicants… like the top applications were accepted first and they released more as people confirmed that they were going to become fellows. Though location is a possibility too.

@artivist247 Thanks for keeping us in the loop!

Oh, yes. Priority makes sense.

After submitting the application in Feb, it stated “The HERlead Team will notify you by email with the status of your application once it has been reviewed.” So maybe they’re going over them once more (like the final review in college admissions), but per region, as I know that they try to accept people from a variety of states.

Okay y’all- here r my thoughts- I think that they’ve already sent out the first wave of applications yesterday morning. The rolling applications that ppl get in the following days are when ppl from that first wave decide not to accept. I’m thinking that rejections will come soon because there will be less ppl rejecting because it’s virtual now and not in NY.

I think maybe they sent all the acceptances yesterday

Hey all, just remember that even without HERlead all of you are such amazing applicants to begin with! As I said before, I haven’t heard back either (so congrats to those who did because you are all so inspiring) but, know that you can still fulfill the projects that you wished to work on. By next year, I will be a published author, CEO of a nonprofit, certified yoga instructor, and will have performed at places akin to the Teen Vogue Summit & Carnegie Hall (which may be postponed/canceled due to the current situation but I’m grateful for the invite.) Honestly, all of you are powerhouses so don’t let rejection stop you from pursuing other meaningful, change-making projects.

@artivist247 Exactly!! No use in feeling discouraged. Just because we haven’t heard back yet, doesn’t mean we’ve been rejected. No one knows what’s happening right now.

…Also, wow…that’s insanely impressive…

@artivist247 Thank you, and wow! Your achievements are amazing! Even if we don’t get in this year, sophomores have the chance to reapply for next year. I was informed of this opportunity very late, so I know that next year I’ll have a better shot with a few more months off preparation. Congrats to those already accepted, and good luck to all the other applicants!

@artivist247 That’s so inspiring! I was initially pretty discouraged when I saw other girls getting acceptances, but we can all enact change in our communities, whether we’re in HERLead or not! We don’t need anyone to tell us that we can or can’t.

And as for the girls that did get accepted, congrats! You’re all so deserving of this fellowship.

@nightingale1215 what did you do your project on?

@treehugger1703 what did you do your project on?

What did everyone put on their awards section?

@moonlitsequoia was there a separate ec and awards section, I can’t remember.

AHHHHHH! This part where ur not completely sure if you’ve been rejected and you just wanna know is so hard!!! Exciting and sort of fun but so stressful! Anyways that’s my rant -

If anyone else gets accepted, text in this chat if you feel comfortable. Not knowing is personally more stressful for me than getting the results, so I want to know if acceptances are still being sent out or not so I can reassemble my work schedule T__T

@artivist247 yes i remember there being a section on honors and awards
