NYWATERWAY also are heroic , with a quick rescue response.</p>
<p>NYWATERWAY has a history of heroism participating in mass evacuation after the 9/11 attacks and after the most recent blackout. NYWATERWAY is a privately owned ferry service that services cross hudson river service between NY & NJ.</p>
<p>All involved did an incredible job.</p>
<p>All the crew sound like they did a spectacular job, not to mention the emergency personnel from all the various NY agencies. Hats off to them all. I hope all those passengers and the crew get a nice strong drink this evening.</p>
<p>This was a masterful job by the pilot. The Hudson River looks big and wide when you’re on a boat, but not when you are trying to land a plane. For those of you not from the area, the West Side Highway, which runs down the west side of Manhattan and is extremely well-traveled, runs on one side of the Hudson, and New Jersey is on the other side. They are both heavily populated areas, and after being in the air only 2-3 minutes, this pilot picked out the river as his runway, and by all accounts, set this plane down gently. Really heroic and masterful.</p>
