Hey guys! Grammar Question Part II

Okay so another grammar question. My previous thread was extremely helpful.

“My love not only applies to cheddar cheese, but to all cheeses.”
or
“My love applies not only to cheddar cheese, but to all cheeses.”

Where do I place the ‘not only’ in order to make it (grammatically correct/best sounding)?

Any and all help is appreciated!

The second. The first says that your love does something more than “applies”: “My love not only applies to cheddar cheese, but devours it.”

The second says that your love applies to more than one thing.

Thank you.
