I’m a Senior from Texas I’m also hispanic if that makes a diffrence… my scores are unfortunatly not as high as I hoped with an SAT score of 1020/1600 and an ACT score of 20. However my WGPA is a 3.2 out of a 4.0 and I’m ranked within the top quarter (19% of my class). I took all AP classes and got Bs and above. I volunteered for over 500 hours. I was also very involved in school and took many leadership positions. I’ve taken internships and done everything I can to put in my resume. I applied before November 20th (I guess that’s EA probably) but I’m just really unsure since it is out of state and don’t know what to expect. Thank you.
Hey I applied to Penn State and would really appreciate it if someone could PLEASE CHANCE ME! Thanks
@Menmar , this may help you. Here’s a link to the freshmen profile page. My gut tells me you may end up at a branch campus, especially if nursing is the program. Unlike most majors, there is no option to transfer to UP after sophomore year. You start and finish at the same campus.
Good luck!

You won’t get into Penn State. You do have the stats for UTSA and UTEP. Both are awesome schools and very hispanic-friendly.
I think Penn State has a curve for the SATs/ACTs but I think the absolute minimum is 1180 or 26/27. Standardized testing is 2/3 of the whole admissions process. However, there is still a chance, good luck.
Actually, GPA is 2/3, testing is 1/3. That said, your GPA isn’t high enough either, and without a high test score to back it up, I’d say you’ll almost definitely get a branch.
You have it backwards. GPA is 2/3 if admissions decision. SAT/ACT and other is 1/3.
