I was accepted by UIUC at first but I did not go. Now I am thinking about transferring to UIUC.
Here are some questions.
- What is the average class size?
2.Is it easy to register for classes?
- Do TA do the teaching?
- How is the dorm condition?
- How is the food?

1.) Avg. class size is usually 50+ or even 100+ for popular Gen. Eds. Class size usually start to shrink as you get into your area of specialization, etc.

2.) Registering is a “snap.” Everything done “on-line.” You will know exactly how many seats are available in a given section and how many are left. On-line maps are available to determine distance to each class, etc.

3.) Generally Professors give the lecture and TA’s (usually PHd. candidates) lead the small (10-15) discussion groups.

4.) Many dorm options. Basic to Luxury. Standard singles/doubles to suites. Check them out on-line; it’s all there.

5.) Food varies, but Ikenberry Commons has a masive food court with all the options, PAR and FAR have very good food, too. Most other Res. Halls have “decent” food.

*6.) Add’l. Info. The basic campus set-up is pretty cool. Imposing academic buildings surround the “Quad.” On the North end is the Student Union which is a great place to hang-out: nice lounges, food vendors, mini-mart, bowling alley, pool tables, etc. Campustown (Green St.,) skirts the North end of campus and has loads of restaurants, coffee shops, bars, stores, etc.
