i think you have a great shot. i don’t know why u weren’t accepted to ucsd. i have similar stats and got into ucsd but not la…

Hm, well congrats on SD
Also, I think it’s because I’m lacking leadership positions, do you guys know if that can hurt my chances significantly?

@willnguyen

lacking something doesnt significantly hurt your chances. not having leadership doesn’t hurt your chances either. so far so good. how are your teacher recs, personal essays?

Unfortunately, I put my name on the envelope that the teacher/counselor sent out, so I think I waived my right (which may hurt my chances), but other than that, I have not read them, so I am unable to say anything about the recs. USC only had one essay, iirc, and it was a personal statement I used for the UC’s. I personally thought it was decent, it was about me volunteering a week at a local therapeutic center and how I said it made me more confident as I talked to people much more. I also said how I became more patient through the whole experience. Haha, here’s my hook sentence ._.

Sitting down on a towel at the beach with mentally challenged teenagers my own age gave me more than just a tan.

to be completely honest, that is one of the best hooks I’ve read.
better than mine -.-
“Church camp? A whole four days? *With strangers? Mom, this doesn’t appeal to me.”

well, i hope they take that into consideration then
any other chances?

Hopefully we both get in… 29 ACT over here as well!
