I would suggest you post on this forum: [Summer Programs - College Confidential](Summer Programs - College Confidential Forums)

I would suggest you find a forum for middle school kids! Many of the summer programs on this site are for high school and college students.

Hi Jin: nice to meet you also. I’d recommend listing the dates available & preferred state/area . GL

Thank you,
Does anyone know about Duke Summer camp?
It is said they have high requirements to get in.

This is what you want: http://www.greatbookssummer.com/

It is not competitive; your kid just needs a few recommendations from teachers. Good luck.

When our kid was that age, we were looking for a program for talented musicians. However, we also wanted something that had a camp feel to it, not a school feel to it. The program we chose had classes five days a week in the mornings 8-12, then a recreation component in the afternoon. The evenings had a combo of music related events and camp events (ice cream socials, dances, etc). The music part was very serious…but there was a fun part too.

What sort of summer program does your child want to do? I would try to get that info as well.

Now,
My son is turning into 9th grade and I am thinking of enrolling him in Columbia University summer programs next year
Which someone recommended, but the fee is outrageously costly ,even compared with other similar programs in
U.S.
Anyone who heard about it or had enrolled before?
Please give me some words about Columbia University summer programs.
Thank you
