<p>Some colleges appear to have an overt preference for athletic backgrounds among applicants. I’ve heard Northwestern and Williams included in that category.</p>
<p>Generally speaking, unless you are a recruited athlete at the particular school, it does not make any difference. however, if you are pationate about your sport and have put a lotof time into it, and you are able to reflect on that in your essay, it could have a positive affect on your application.</p>
