I just ordered some sausage & cheese to be shipped to my son – maybe for Superbowl if it lasts that long!

Hope you remembered to order through the upromise account (if you have one). The Hickory farms gave an additional 5% contribution to yor kids college fund.

My s will eat the cheese, but not the sausage (he’ll eat pruschutto and beef jerkey, neither of which I saw on the HF website) so I ordered a “cheeselovers” box. It was only 50% off. But with the extra 15% code (which popped up automatically on the upromise site) it wasnt too bad.

Maybe we can negotiate a CC discount with these vendors!

I’m friends with the CEO of Hickory Farms. We, cc members, have connections. BTW, I think they’re just trying to get rid of all the leftover holiday gift sets.

Thanks for the H&D link. My s eats plenty of junk so I love sending him healthy stuff (and he loves fruit). $15 for pears with free shipping is an awesome deal. :)

Have you read this, Dave Barry?
I can’t wait to see the Google’s banner ads.
:)

If I could be sure that my son would eat the pears, I would send them. I KNOW he will eat the sausage and cheese! Thanks so much for the link. I’ve ordered the sausage and cheese ball combo ($3.75!), to be sent to him. Perfect superbowl food.

Kathiep, no worries, the girls will eat the pears;)

Both D and I love the pears - thanks for the heads up on those. We got them as a gift last year and fought over the last one - now I can have them all to myself - sniff, sniff.

Thanks for posting the Hickory Farms link. H likes to go to the local mall after Christmas and buy, but didn’t get around to it this year. He just placed an order at a real discount, including shipping. AND it beats going to the mall…

I spent just over $100 & bought for us, the kids & mailed to a lot of folks who will be very surprised & happy!
Thanks for the tip! Will look at cheese lovers for another friend who is a vegetarian.

Hickory Farms website now says sale “ends at midnight 1/19 due to overwhelming demand”.

They didn’t mention you by name, DeniseC?

:p

credit goes to my friend Ellen on another forum.

Anyone know if the $10 savings card off purchase of $20 applies to the sale pears with the free shipping or not?
Thanks!

You all are the best. A cheesy gift and petit fours coming soon and pears coming later, so goodies to the dorm two weeks in row. I am sure D is too busy with the start of the new semester to even think about reading CC so these can surprise her. First day of class tomorrow - she’s got an 8 am Arabic class and multivariate calculus (after taking a semester off of math) in the afternoon. And she sang We Shall Overcome today for MLK Day. I miss her and want to send her a treat. Thanks for the great, discount priced, ideas.

You guys are infectious. Just ordered pears for D2 and oranges for D1 from H & D.

I ordered some pears for DD today. Hickory Farms still has a few items available.

The prices at Hickory Farms are higher than the sale prices yesterday but still lower than the regular prices.
I was surprised that Harry & David allowed me to use the $10 savings coupon with the free shipping. Sent two boxes of pears to my kids at college so each can have a box–only $19.90 net cost, including shipping (less than $10/box)! They will be very surprised, since I didn’t send many gift boxes previously.

HImom, where did you find the Harry and David coupon? Anyone know of any deals on citrus fruit? I’m sitting here with a nasty cold reminded I need some vitamin C!
