I’ve been wondering if I had a shot applying to NYU. My grades neither good nor bad. (3.5) but ACT score is really high. Would I have a chance at being accepted? I’ve heard that colleges don’t like people with high ACT and low grades because it means that they’re smart slackers.

Depends on which school. What are you interested in studying? Stern may be out of reach, but CAS, Steinhardt and Gallatin may be within reach if you right good essays, have good EC’s and letters of recommendation.

NYU has a holistic admissions process and they look at a lot more than just grades.

As of right now I want to go Pre-Med.
