As the title implies, I have a lower SAT score than my ACT score (because we all know that the ACT is easier). Since it’s rumored that East Coast schools “prefer” the SAT, should I still submit both, or just the ACT?

well unfortunately you’ll have to submit the SAT regardless to meet the three subject test requirement.

however, i’m in the same boat –
1840 SAT (sophomore)
32 ACT (retaking in Dec)

Hoping the admissions committee sees only to ACT !!!

well, actually…i was talking more around like 36 and 2200, but thx nonetheless

Nice! That 36 will override the 2200. The reason why the SAT is preferred is because it is on a finer scale - a 35 on the ACT is seen in the range of 2340~2390, according to the UC conversion charts. A 36 is matched with a 2400, although I’d say that a 2380 or 2390 could definitely be “equal” to a 36. Anyway, your 36 is what matters, so consider yourself in the 2380~2400 range.
