High ACT low essay

Hypothetically speaking, if I were to take the ACT and get a low essay score but high composite, would it hurt my chances for getting into an ivy league school? The reason I ask is because I have (consistently) scored 7s and below in practice ACT essays, while, at the same time, scoring 33+ composite. If I get similar results on the September ACT (which is about 10 days away) how much of an impact would it have on my chances?

33+ composite is very good score;however, schools would probably expect at least an 8 to accompany that.
As you are talented with the test section of the test, try to emphasize your practice sessions with the essay portion, and you will be fine.
Moreover, for the essay, write as much as you can.
And, always start with a hook-interesting opening.

Thanks. I guess I’ll keep practicing.
