<p>I’m trying to choose songs to sing for auditions and i’m just seeing the same songs over and over again that are so boring! Wicked,Les Miz… just the typical overdone songs.I was wondering if anyone knew some unique high belt songs from musicals!(but not to obscure that i couldnt find the sheet music)</p>
<p>musicalgal – I see this is your first post – welcome to the discussion board. It is very difficult to recommend songs with out knowing more about you and your voice. You will also find that many on this board might be reluctant to share their great audition songs with you! As a vocal coach, I always advise my students to start by looking at OLDER material – take a look at songs by Gershwin, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, for example. Try shows like Anything Goes, Pal Joey, Crazy for You, Irene, Pajama Game, Babes in Arms, Kiss Me Kate, Plain & Fancy, George M, Sweet Charity…You will find a wealth of material that is not overdone. It will also show the audition panels that you have done your research, which is never a bad thing.</p>
