High GPA Low SAT scores but Very Good Extra curriculars

<p>Awards: Gold for Math, Science, English, Social Studies and Physical Education. </p>

<p>I am a youth Advocate in New York City. I do public speaking, leadership development and I am part of a youth led organization called Future of Tomorrow (FOT). I am also apart of Diginity in Schools (DSC) Urban Youth Collaborative (UYC) and Alliance of Educational Justice (AEJ) I do work locally, city wide and national wide advocating for better quality of education. I hold workshops at a national level. Fought Back on school closings. I am also part of Student Government, and I am a certified youth Leader granted from the Youth Organizing Institute (YOI) in New York City. I also held teachins and workshops for young people from highschool to middle school. Meetings with the Department of Education, and Council conferences in New York city.</p>

<p>Your EX’s look great and as well as your GPA. But none of those universities will accept you with a SAT score like that. If you’re ranked #1 in you’re class then you shouldn’t have a SAT score like that. It just doesn’t match up with your GPA and class rank. It makes you look like you doesn’t deserve the GPA and class rank you have and that your school is very lenient. If you want to stand at least a chance you should really consider taking the SAT again before applying.</p>

<p>If that SAT score is out of 1600, then you do have a chance at a few of the schools. (Not Dartmouth, to be honest) If that SAT score is out of 2400, however, I don’t see you getting into any of these schools. I strongly recommend retaking the SAT, if possible.</p>

<p>Either take the ACT or reach for Bates/Bowdoin.</p>

Dartmouth - no

<p>if he meant out of 1600 then yes he stand’s a good chance at most of them but syracuse is a high match and not sure about the rest.</p>

<p>I would definitely take the SAT again. If you are smart enough to manage that great of an overall average and be valedictorian, I’m sure you could manage a much better SAT score than that if you study and then try again.</p>

<p>yeah don’t expect to get into Dartmouth now. the solution was to retake the SAT. even with a 2310 [1530] I was rejected from places like Rice, Stanford, MIT, Princeton (although the latter three are considerably harder to get into than Dartmouth). </p>
