My English/Reading scores are 35 and 36, however my Math is a 28. I have gotten than up from a 25, so I have done quite a bit of studying/test prep. Any tips from others who have a similar experience?
I’m not sure what the problem is here. A Math score of 28 on the ACT is equal to the 90th %ile and is a strong score. The composite of the 3 sections you provided is a 33, which equals the 98th %ile and is a very strong score.
Please provide some context for your question.
Congrats.
Are you able to figure out which math questions you are missing.
When I studied for the GMAT, I found my weak spots, bought a book and for 30 mins a day (two sections), I pounded question after question after question. And the next day the same…maybe three days in a row until I think hit the next section.
The good news is though - that your super score is inching up. And it’s already a fine score.
If you can figure out which problems you are missing, you should be able to find resources to focus specifically on those problems.
Good luck.
Many schools have selective scholarship programs where you can only apply if you have above a certain ACT fort Baylor and Tulane it’s a 34. For other schools like UNC them don’t explicitly state a number but the scholarship winners have high scores. Some schools have automatic scholarships and increasing my ACT can increase the money awarded.
I didn’t take it on a national day so I didn’t get the exact questions, but it’s primarily the geometry problems.
So you know where to focus. See if Khan Academy or other online resources can offer problems for that specific area.
Your most important schools are the Nebraskas and UNTs of the world. Even with a 36, those scholarships you are referencing are lottery tickets - very few get. Even those with perfect academic records and ACT scores.
So please ensure you get those will 100% hit budget in first.
Good luck.
Have you taken practice tests under the EXACT SAME conditions? For the ACT it is often a speed issue. But that will let you see exactly where the struggle is.
