Hi
I am an international student from Poland, so I am not really into application processes. I got a quite high SAT I score and very bad SAT II scores (the highest one was 710 in German…). I’ve read on various universities e.g. Princeton that they do not really take into account SAT II if you do not have enough money to take it. Is it true? How important is SAT II? Do you know anybody who excelled SAT I and failed SAT II?
Secondly, I am applying for the Autumn 2016 - will my January SAT II scores be on time or is it too late? ( I want to improve me scores)
If the school states SAT IIs are Recommended but not Required it generally means low income students don’t have to take them. As to whether you would be considered low income (since you obviously Were able to take them)…
To be honest, I hope I will be considered low-income cuz my parents do not earn much in Polish currency, so when it is exchanged into dollars, the amount of money becomes even lower. However, obviously, I could take them.
You stated you already DID take them.
But it does not mean I am going to SEND them. At the same time, my parents’ earnings seem so low for Americans that universties may excuse me. But regardless of earnings, does SAT II really matter so much?
710 is not bad. 700+ is fine for Ivies if you have a strong SAT score, especially 2300+.
SAT II matters for top schools, it doesn’t for other colleges.
It really matters on the college if January 2016 scores are too late. Look at the individual college’s admissions website.
