If I have a 3.5 GPA (with all honors and AP courses) due to some extenuating circumstances, but a 1500 SAT score, can I get into schools like Stonehill, Syracuse, URI, and Clemson?
I have quite a long list of extracurriculars and have had a part-time job since sophomore year, I’m worried my transcript is gonna tear me down though.
If i present good grades first quarter of senior year could I fix this?
In what universe is a 3.5 a bad GPA? If you do have extenuating circumstances you can ask your guidance counselor to mention them in his/her letter of recommendation – that way the reasons come of as independently verified and factual and not as an applicant complaining about his/her situation.
Congrats on the great score and keep working for your goals.
You can get into all of those excellent schools. Pharmacy , nursing and ocean biology are the toughest at uri. The 1500 puts you in the running for merit at Clemson and Syracuse. Not for journalism or a couple other majors at cuse. But some. Clemson is great. I don’t think you are out of the running for honors but not sure of gpa requirement. stonehill would be thrilled to have you there. All of these are opinions not facts of course.
What majors are you interested in?
All in all you should be ok at all - obviously some are more rezxhy than others but you already know that.
