My son has a 1520 (1600) score
His GPA is 3.2 UW
We live in CA
UC schools are a reach the state schools are other extreme
He is looking for a larger university with sports
He is a student athlete year round
Any suggestions with schools
We live in SLO Cal Poly wants to go away

Based on his interest in athletics, he may like one or two schools from this article:
What are your limitations for your S (ex. financial constraints, geographic etc.)
Intended major? and do not count out the Cal States. Top Cal States like SLO, SDSU and CSULB are not definite guarantees due to his GPA. His competitive SAT scores do make up for the lower than average GPA but maybe he would consider an Honor’s college at one of the CSU’s.
Arizona State might be a good option along with Oregon state.
