High School basketball

I am a huge fan of high school basketball. My kids didn’t play, but I attended most of their school’s games. They had some pretty good teams. It is fun to follow their classmate now that he is playing in college and to see several of their opponents likewise playing in college.

Well, just because I no longer have kids in high school and I am new to this area doesn’t mean I can’t still follow the local team. These guys are very good, and I saw my 3rd game tonight. The local high school is one of the top teams in the area and remains undefeated after beating the #1 ranked team (and previously undefeated) tonight. It was a great game. This team is led by the strong play of two senior guards. One will be attending West Point, the other Harvard. How is that for a CC all-star back court? :D

Any other fans out there?

I’m a big high school basketball fan too! It probably has a lot to do with my dad coaching the sport :)

I played 4 years and I was a pretty bad player, but I was good enough to get a few minutes here and there  I played on a team that won 21 games and played for a Regional Championship and my senior year we won 18 or 19 games I believe. The team my junior year included 3 DI players–none of them in basketball  Two baseball players (one fullride academics) and another for golf.

My high school has been pretty bad the last two years due to a lack of talent but I still enjoy watching them play.

That’s why Indiana is known for basketball–nothing else to do between November and March!
