High School Bloggers & "Blogging" as an Extra Curricular

Hi, I was just curious here.
About a year ago I found a strong interest in a certain subject area and while wondering how to sort of express this interest I just decided to start a blog on a whim. I just made this very basic website on Wordpress and I published like four posts and haven’t really gone back to it since.

I saw quite a few people (both BS applicants and just college applicant resumes in general) blogging as part of their extracurricular – for instance writing computer science-related blogs and gaining like 10k followers. I mean I’m pretty sure this would get you across as dedicated in that subject but in a practical sense is this actually valuable? Like earlier today I’m not sure if this is because of my poor research skills but I tried to look at some famous blogs actual high schoolers wrote, like related to science or biology, and I ended up not rlly finding any.
Anyways let me just get my points/questions across:
So if any of you guys have experience blogging or know someone who has “successfully” done so as an “extracurricular”

  1. What topic have you blogged about, and what were your blogs about (I would really appreciate it if you sort of go specific)
  2. Do you know any blogs/websites that high schoolers have created (so that I can take a look at them and kind of get a sense of what type of blogs they are?) If so could you please link the website or dm me.
  3. What is the process to creating a blog, specifically regarding an education blog by a high schooler? Any advice (regarding the blogging platform, ways to get the blog known, etc)?
    Thank you so much!!

PS. a fellow bs applicant here, best of luck for m10!! :upside_down_face:
