High School Class of 2013

Hey guys, where are you in the college search? How are your lists so far? For me, I have a very broad list of 26 schools that I made with my college counsellor, although I could easily narrow it down to a smaller number. I’m in the middle of a college your atm.

Also, I still have to keep taking the SAT and ACT. I have ACT in April, SATII in May, and SAT in June. I’m really hoping to get 2150+ on the SAT.

I’m doing April ACT, May SAT II Bio and USH (and 5 AP tests), and June SAT. Then in the fall I’ll retake the ACT/SAT of needed and take the Math 2 subject test.

Ahh colleges. I have a tentative list (in order of preference)

Harvard
Georgetown
Brown
Tufts
Dartmouth
Northwestern
Pomona
Northeastern
UC’s (Berkeley, LA, SD)

So yeah…I’m feeling very inadequate though.

I already took the Math II subject test and ACT 3 times, so I only have 2 more subject tests to go.

Be jealous.

Haha, nice job.

The earliest I can take the ACT is June because I’ll be in Japan in April :stuck_out_tongue: I refuse to take the SAT because I hate the format and suck at the PSAT.

I’m taking the APUSH test in May, Math II and US History SATII in June, ACT in June, as well as the US History, Japanese, and Chemistry Regents that month. I took the Japanese Subject Test in November and bombed HORRIBLY so I have to retake that again.

Taking Calc BC, Statistics and Chemistry for APs. Also SAT on Saturday and I haven’t gotten a chance to practice…I got a 2210 in November, trying to get 2300ish so that’ll be tomorrow’s project.

I’m taking the SAT and ACT in June. Since my school will hold the SAT, and I figure I would just take the ACT right after. But I wonder… What is the ACT like?

@alwaysleah—
Typical ambitious CC’er. You probably deserve it more than the annoying senior who keeps bragging about getting into Cornell: “Yeah, but I’m waiting on Harvard to accept me… I want my pHD from there.” Ugh. D:

On the subject of tests: 2270, 2350 on SAT, 2400 superscore-- this is a miracle, guys. I don’t deserve these scores at ALL. 790 on Math II… gah. D:

I love the ACT, and don’t understand why it’s not as popular as the SAT. The math doesn’t try to trick you. Either you know it or you don’t. Science is kind of diffcult for me, but that’s because reading gets a little boring. 36 average, only 35 in science.

So I think I’m set with ACT/SAT testing-wise. The subject tests, however, and AP tests, will be a COMPLETELY different story.

Hopefully HMC class of 2017 <3 If not, then UW.

Haha, reading all of these scores makes me feel horribly insufficient…

Took the SAT once in March 2011… haha. Never going back there again. Then I took the ACT in June 2011 and got a 33. I’m taking the ACT again in April.

I’m still debating on whether or not I should take Subject Tests, but because of weird money issues, and since that knocks Ivy Leagues and pretty much every single school that requires SAT II’s off of my list, I’m not sure.

^ Don’t even… it’s kind of only luck that I did as well that I did. Trust me… AP scores are not going to be pretty. :/

Can you do a fee waiver?

Yeah I gotta add more safeties lol. But I would be perfectly happy at Northeastern to be honest.

Mascara I’m sure you do deserve your scores! Good job!

@Cantconcentrate I think you should try to take them… Like mascara said, can you get a fee waiver? If not, try talking to your school. I know mine has funds from the PTA to assist in special cases.

You guys make me feel dumb… Haha.

And as far as SATs and ACTs… Well I was going to take the ACT in April, but then I decided to take 3 APs, so now I’m taking it in June… If I need to retake it, I have september, so it’s all good. Lol.

I’m taking the SAT II’s in May (USH, Chem and bio). And yes, I did purposely pick the same 3 subjects for SATs and APs. Lol.I also have to take ML2 in June… And possibly the physics one… And any other ones I screw up on in May. :p

We’ll see what happens…

I hope I get 5s on all the APs. ):

Wow, hearing all of these SAT scores are crazy. I feel really bad for having a score of only 1970. I am taking them again in June, and I have been reading a lot, so hopefully I can boost my Critical Reading score. I am aiming for at least a 2000 on the SAT.

AP Exams are coming up, which means I have to start studying. I am taking three (Calc BC, Chemistry, and Gov). I don’t really worry about the Gov one, but Chemistry freaks me out. I love chemistry and do decent in it, but I fear I will forget some formulas. Calculus BC honestly doesn’t feel like it will be too hard for me. There are not many formulas to memorize, and most of it is just applications of integrals and derivatives (and some other stuff).

The year is almost over already. I cannot believe we will soon be seniors.

A score of 1970 O_O
I wonder what the highest you could get on the SAT?

2400 is the highest score (including writing).

You should try the ACT. I was getting your scores on practice SATs, then I got a 32 my first time on the ACT (that’s like a 2120). I took it again last weekend and I think I got like a 33 or 34, much better than I could’ve done on the SAT.

5 months until applications come out! =O

can’t wait…

@Lesley: Summer will goes by fast this year. And I’m diffidently not ready for that.

@dfree124 Really? I’m dreading it… D:

@Descuff I know- I can imagine…
