Technically, my school doesnt rank which I guess its beneficial for colleges and stuff but the Top 20 isnt announced until after the 1st semester which I find weird but it gives you more time to redeem yourself cuz at my school, you need AT LEAST a 98 average UW to even have a chance to be in the top 20 unless I get mad lucky and everyone starts slacking all of the sudden which will never happen because my grade has the most freaky Asian/gifted geniuses.

At my school ranking follow the previous trimester. Fairly easy for some smart people to get in top 25% and then fall below after a bad trimester.

Have anyone scheldule for senior year yet? Still waiting for junoir turn to schedule at my school…

Just finalized my senior year schedule yesterday. :)

AP Macroeconomics
AP English Lit
French V
Honors Calculus
AP Chemistry
AP US Gov. and Politics

Taking a couple off periods this year. I’ve never had an off period before haha. I expect I’ll mostly be using them to work on apps though.

Nah you should use those free periods for AP Lit, Trust me lot of reading in that classes (if you don’t want time-consuming hw).
Here my suggested schecule (what I want and why):
AP Pyschology (Pyschology was easy A for me 99% right now, second highest in class got 93%)
AP Lang (Appartely I’m gonna have english in college anyway so this is just good dual course class)
Pre-cal/tri (require 4 year of math, might as well since i’m good at it)
Advanced Orch (Fun class, also best life lessons experiences)
AP Chem (might not get this class because I need pre-cal to do it- I rather not do biology or physics can’t stand them)
US Gov (required)
Economic (required)
I don’t want no free period so I might have to fill in the slots with random classes.

I don’t even know if my school ranks or not. It’s an extension of what I hate about it - no competitiveness, healthy elitism, grade obsession, etc. At least I know I’ll be ranking high, assuming there was a system.

I really wish my school didn’t rank, because students use all sorts of schemes to up their rank: for example, some students take 5+ community college classes (basket-weaving, arts & crafts, and the like) to boost their GPAs artificially with 5.0s… T.T

^Community colleges are weighted at your school?

In my school we don’t sign up for classes until like May or June.

I want to take:
Gym
Advisory
Japanese 4
AP Eng Lit
Journalism
AP Calc AB
AP Bio
AP Comp Gov

but that schedule is impossible. Classes are definitely going to overlap.

My school does ranking only senior year right before 2nd marking period… It pretty much stinks not knowing where i am in my class :(

Also, i really hopemy schedule works out, i have as many aps as i can fit into my schedule and i just hope theres no overlap!

My class has ~150 kids in it and I know all the ones with high averages (there are very few) and we all have around 97-99.

Just finalized my senior schedule a few minutes ago…yay for online registration.
ECE means dual-enrollment class taught at my high school, so I get UConn credit for it and it transfers almost anywhere :)

AP/ECE Biology
AP/ECE Microeconomics
AP/ECE English Comp.
S1: Multivariable Calculus (On UConn campus)
S2: Differential Equations (On UConn campus)
S1: Ceramics
S2: Honors Computer Science

I’ll get opens for the first time too! Classes at the university need 2-3 opens, and classes for the first semester end a few weeks earlier than my school and the second semester starts later and ends earlier than at my school. So I’ll have lots of open time those weeks.

Guys, I don’t really have anything to take next year except:

AP Gov’t
AP English
AP Calc
and psychology (no AP offered)
I have no idea what to do! :/

^I remember you! You made all the AP Facebook groups :P

There’s no languages you can take? Music/Art?

I still can’t believe we’ll be graduating next yr! And applying to colleges this yr,I still don’t know if I want to go straight to a 4yr or transfer after going to a CC

Sent from my SPH-M910 using CC

Lol ik, the only active one is AP bio. ): And I couuld take Spanish 4… Of course, I’ll spend the entire year absolutely miserable. Other than that, I don’t have much to take.

I only really need english and gov and econ to graduate but since I failed apush I’ll need summer school for the 1st time idk if I want to take spanish 3 but I’ll just take classes to have 6 periods next yr

Sent from my SPH-M910 using CC

I finished my first IA! I’m so happy to have one under my belt. Now I can also say I’ve written my first Math paper. :)

Of course, I’m currently working on a bunch more. Two, which will be three in a few weeks. Yikes.

@ForeIN: Community colleges are cool and all but you’ll miss out on college (so-called dorm) life.

And I’m still waiting for juniors’ turn to schedule @ my school -_-
It’s taking forever.

Everyone here does schedules soooooooo early. We sign up for schedules mid May or early June and don’t find out what they are until we pick them up next September.
