High School Class of 2014

Tehehehe  nope I took pre-ib world II this year!

Hey everyone!

Sophomore schedule:
AP Euro
AP Chem
H Pre Calc
H English 10
Spanish 2
Video Production
Tennis

@Wishful–Is taking Pre-Calc considered advanced for a sophomore? For us, it’s considered double-advanced. Also, I have a feeling I may be asking you a lot about AP Euro this upcoming year. It seems as if sophomores taking AP Euro is a rarity, with the majority of our classmates taking AP World.

Sophomore Schedule

AP US Government
AP Psychology
Pre-IB Chemistry I
AP Calculus AB
AP Physics B
Pre-IB Spanish II
AP English Language

Most rigorous, with all but AP Psychology mandatory. yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.

Sophomore schedule:

Chemistry
Algebra II + Geometry
American Literature
AP English Language (online class)
American History
AP Psychology (self-study)
German II

EC’s:
Jazz or Ballet classes (haven’t decided yet)
Voice Lessons/Performing at venues
Volunteer at local soup kitchen
Start a non-for-profit charity

@anmsestudent
holy…how can you take AP Physics B? Did you take Physics already?

Is anyone from an IB school planning to obtain an MYP certificate? Any ideas for the personal project? My counselor told me that I could possibly double a crew team at school I’m starting or a triathlon I’m organizing as mine… But I’m not 100% sure… I feel the whole MYP program is a waste of time… Anyone else participating?

@evan Honors Pre Calc is the highest math offered for sophomores at my school. Most 10th graders take Algebra 2 or H Algebra 2/ Trig (I took this freshman year).

WishfulThinking, is tennis a class at your school? That’s pretty funny.

@AimHigh2
Yeah, I’m in this magnet program at school where it’s focused on a lot of physics, and they made the freshman take Physics Honors.

@wishful–oh, okay. The “regular” class for sophomores at my school is Geometry. So, you guys are farther along than us.

Hey everyone! I’m glad that we have a Class of 2014 thread.

Freshman Schedule:

 1. Spanish 3-4 (2nd-year Spanish)
 2. Geometry
 3. World History/Cultures 1-2 (required)
 4. Physical Education: Course 1 (required)
 5. English 1-2 (required)
 6. Chemistry Honors
 7. Speech and Debate (National Forensics League; I was only in Speech though)

-Sport: Badminton
-Club: Key Club (No, it was not a club about keys. It was a community service club.)

Summer:
Summer homework and I will be doing Algebra II with Trigonometry in a summer program.

Classes I signed up for for Sophomore year:

 1. Spanish 5-6 Honors (3rd-year Spanish)
 2. Pre-Calculus OR Pre-Calculus Honors (Please help me make my decision since I’m doing Allgebra II/Trig. over the summer).
 3. World History/Cultures 3-4 Accelerated
 4. Introduction to Engineering Design
 5. English 3-4 Accelerated
 6. Biology Honors
 7. Speech and Debate

-Sport: Cross Country for Fall and Track & Field or Badminton for Spring
-Clubs: Key Club and maybe CJSF

Also, do you think it is a good idea to self-study for AP World History? I was thinking of doing it this year, but I need more information of other people’s opinions.

It’s amazing to see that you are allowed to take multiple AP’ sophmore year-our school has restrictions, we can only take one :frowning: And gym is mandatory too, but this is our last year :)

But my sophmore schedule:
English 10 Honors
Chemistry Honors
Algebra Two
AP World History
Latin Three
Gym :frowning:
Creative Writing Two
(I’m piling up the AP’s for next year :/)

That’s odd. We don’t have any AP restrictions.

We have the option of only pre-IB and only 1 AP and 1 IB class… And if you are planning to pursue the IB diploma you have to take a set schedule… It sucks

I’m not sure what I might be taking next year, but probably . . .

Global Literature 2
Global History 2
Chemistry
Geometry/Algrebra 2+Trig
Spanish 2

No problem.

mine:
Advanced Math (It’s really Pre-Calculus meshed with Algebra II and Trig)
AP Biology
Latin II Honors
English
History
Advanced Drawing
Research Course

Odd that Latin II is honors. Wait, is it separated from a regular Latin II course? You guys make me envious of the interesting courses at your schools.

Just finished my first two exams. Five left… I got a 99 in Drama, but I don’t know my World History grade yet. Anyone else taking exams?
