Is your book as boring as mine? haha

Just started school. It has been almost perfect so far.
The bad: History first period, my idiotic friend in history with me, having bad seats in Physics and Stat

The good: awesome teachers, a really good friend in my math class, my teacher recommended I skip theatre 1 and take theatre 2, I don’t have a certain teacher, my calc teacher seems super funny

First day was great; physics teach was like “whoah…” (I told the whole class the history of the geocentric vs. heliocentric theories, their relation to Aristotle and the church, and finally the refutation) for like 15 minutes.

Now just working on apps.

ahem

I’m thinking of date rapes which are kinda common.

I think my AP Physics C teacher hates me. He asked us to create a syllabus for the class, and since I took his AP Physics B class last year, I just turned in that syllabus and wrote “WITH CALCULUS” at the top of the page lol.

@LoveArtForever, I think I seriously am going to apply for the tall people scholarship. It would feel nice to use my 5’11" as an advantage for something other than basketball. I don’t think you have to know a member of the Tall People Club to apply, I think it’s open to everyone. I e-mailed my local Tall People Club, and they said they open apps in either January or March (can’t remember). I would just email and see what they say! Wouldn’t it be awesome if we got scholarships just for being tall?? Sounds like a major win to me!

Lol, I know this is derpy, but I still get kind of excited when my work is used as an example. I got giddy today when my IB Bio teacher passed out my hw as an example of what to do. Tee-hee. Derp.

^ girls pssht…

This is a non sequitur, but RPI and University of Minnesota Twin Cities are starting to get on my nerve. They’re all like “we have these special streamlined applications for you” and send me “reminders” every single day. Since July at least.

Haha, I’ve gotten those emails too. I mean I get what they’re doing, though. I’ve had RPI on my list of schools for a while now even before the emails, but I don’t know if it’s a right fit for me.

First day:

Bad: Sitting in homeroom for about two hours, don’t know many kids in AP Euro, loud, annoying jocks in AP English and Gov, cramped in both English and Calculus

Good: Senior breakfast, hanging out w/ friends, good teachers, aide period, lunch w/ friends, mostly good, fun teachers, and being a senior in general

Here, here! Let the year begin!

UM Twin Cities sends me those annoying emails too. I WILL NEVER APPLY TO YOUR SCHOOL.

So came back from the first day.

AP English Lang - Nice teacher but this is going to be rigorous especially since this is my first class and I have to do all my homework at home. She basically told us (in the nicest way possible) that we are about to experience hell.

Spanish IV - Going to be like Spanish III, easy and relaxed, and the teacher is nice too.

AP Bio - I love this teacher. She’s so funny and so easy to talk to. She might become my bff tbh. The class will be moderately rigorous. I should be able to handle it well.

Speech - My favorite teacher teaches this class. She told us it will be a relaxed class and easy. I love it.

AP Psych - This teacher is so funny. He doesn’t collect homework until test days and the class will be easy. He told us we will get into interesting and controversial topics. I can’t wait!

Ceramics - lol this is an art class, me no care.

Overall - I like all my teachers which is the first time this has happened to me EVER. The only classes that will require most of my effort will be AP English Lang and AP Bio. The rest are just there to fill up my day. I’m loving senior year already. ALTHOUGH, my lunch period sucks. All my friends (and practically the whole senior class) has the same lunch period EXCEPT me of course. Lunch was actually the worst part of my day today. I know a few people, so I’ll just have to make do with what I got.

haha okay, we can all suffer together. Since it seems like for a lot of you first day of school was today, I’ll just share what I think of my (current) classes:

AP Economics: I’ve had the teacher before. He’s pretty blunt and gets to the point. I guess he’s a good teacher because the stuff from the class I had with him sophomore year is the only history I remember in high school. We have no homework EVER but the course’s grade is based SOLELY on tests. I don’t know if that’s good or bad, but it’s probably bad for me.

AP Chemistry: The class is so. freaking. unorganized. I have no idea what worksheets are called because they’re different on the calendar, and no idea when what is due because even though it’s a calendar IT DOESN’T SAY. Other than that, it doesn’t seem too hard (yet). We’ve already done 3 lab things and this is the second full week of school.

Biotechnology: No homework, it’s basically go there, do lab work, put stuff in our notebooks and leave. Pretty easy. Assessments are quizzes that are open notes. If I don’t get an A in the class, I may kill something.

English Honors: We read about 40 pages in the Dover edition of Jane Eyre every night. I was supposed to be in AP English, but the stupid IS told me I couldn’t because she doesn’t like me. Other than that, I guess I like the class. It’s not as lively as my other English classes, though. And that makes me kind of sad.

And those are all the classes I’m taking until the end of September (that’s when the community college starts).

Overall, my schedule is so breezy I feel uneasy. Right now the only class I have what I call real homework in is AP Chemistry. For English, I usually do the reading in class (I still participate in discussion. After years, I finally got the hang of being able to multitask).

Lunch at my school is the same time for everyone. Except I get to leave at lunch since come September, I’ll need that to get to my college courses.

Oh we’re doing this? Fine, why not?

MV Calculus: I literally have all of my friends in this class, and I happen to like the teacher (even though I’m the only one). Workload seems manageable. Should be fun.

AP Physics C: I had the teacher last year for AP Physics B. I have a couple of good friends in the class, and there’s no legitimate homework ever. I goof off more than I focus.

English 12: I got the teacher I wanted. She’s awesome. All the graduated seniors told me everyone loves the class, and the workload’s decent. Not bad for a required course.

Religion: It’s aight. Only for a trimester. Class is kinda crappy, but I like one of the teachers. She seems to get it. Required courses are required.

AP Biology: SO. BORING. It’s going to be lecture after lecture I can tell. I’m also 1 of 3 guys in the class, but they’re good friends so we’ll survive. Apparently there’s reading every night…

AP Chemistry: Most of my friends are in it. The teacher is kinda hyper, but she seems fun. Should be pretty laid back. I actually have work in this class :(

Overall, my schedule is pretty good, except my free period first trimester sucks since I’m one of five seniors in it, but I’ll get a couple of friends second and third trimester.

IB History- Teacher seems nice, and my class is only 15 people, but one of them is stupid.
AP Physics- I have friends, my teacher is funny, but my lab table is weird
IB English- I have to walk out to the portables, but I think it’ll be a good class
AP Stat- Eheh so far. I sit in the really back and I only have one (sorta) friend
BC Calc- Seems amazing. My teacher is hilarious and I like the material we learned today
IB French- badbadbad. My teacher is so bad
Theatre 2- My theatre teacher let me skip theatre 1. SO HAPPY

I start school next week, but I have had all the teachers on my schedule, except my English teacher. Here are my classes:

AP Chem
AP Physics Mechanics
AP Statistics
Honors English 4
Honors Spanish 4
Java Programming
Oracle Database
Web Security
Web Design
AP Gym (lol, jk just regular gym class)

I suppose I can join the ongoing trend…

IB English HL - Had this teacher in 10th grade. He’s pretty funny and really weird. He grades pretty ridiculously though sometimes…

IB Math HL - Same teacher as last year, not too interesting, but I have my friends to keep me entertained.

IB Biology HL - I like this teacher, though some others don’t as much. It’s a pretty straightforward class. And I love biology, so that helps :D

IB History SL - This is a 5-person class, but I like everyone in it so it’s okay. I had the teacher in 10th grade and she’s pretty cool and easy, so it should be a relatively chill class.

IB Spanish HL - The teacher is really nice, but I get so bored in that class that it’s hard for me to fall asleep. I hope it gets more interesting over the year…

IB Latin SL - One of my favorite classes this year. This a 6-person class. The teacher is funny. The other kids in the class are funny. We just spend the entire class translating Latin, making funny cultural collections, and laughing. It’s a pretty good time :)

For some reason this made me laugh.

Lol don’t start school until September 3rd ha! Tomorrow I have a retreat because I’m doing the mentoring program where seniors in Gov/Eco mentor freshies who take health.

That awkward moment when I discuss Chicago’s gun violence in my essay for the University of Chicago.

Okay. Is anyone else already stressing out with senior year around the corner and these college apps? I’ve been so bogged down this summer, and my parents have refused to take me on any college vists, that I don’t even know where to apply anymore. Sorry. Just had to rant.

I’m pretty stressed, haha. I can’t wait till I get accepted somewhere.
