^haha same. it’s just so stressful to not know what lies in the future

Question:
Has anyone had a teacher who has no idea what they’re talking about? My IB Chem teacher clearly does not understand the material he’s supposed to be teaching and frequently does example problems very incorrectly on the board, but gets angry if anyone tries to correct him. He can’t coherently answer questions and everyone in the class is frustrated by his lack of knowledge. I’m a huge STEM nerd, but this class is just so frustrating with his constant poor teaching. Everyone is concerned about IB tests in May. Has anyone else had a similar situation? How do you deal with it?

As a random aside, I’m the only student taking HL Math in my school. Luckily, I have the most awesome math teacher ever!

I start September 3rd yet. Has it kicked in to anyone that we’re freaking seniors?? It hasn’t hit me yet.

I go to Rochester to help my brother move in to U of R tomorrow. And my friends are instagramming Manhattan from Julliard and the Yale dining hall and I just can’t wait to apply and get it over with

I hate that. I NEED TO KNOW.

@evanatch My IB History 1 teacher had no idea what he was talking about. We had an essay test and he had to look up a word on one of the questions that HE MADE. I also had a geometry teacher who didn’t know how to do a lot of the problems. Once we were doing a worksheet and I had to teach him how to answer a question.

I wish I could fast-forward to December, get my Harvard rejection, then fast-forward to April, receive a slew of college acceptances and rejections, and then fast-forward to September to start college because, 5 days in, I have had quite enough of senior year to last me a lifetime.

Lol, I start school tomorrow. Hashtag kill me.

Lol I think I’m the only one not stressed at all about all this.

I thought I had everything down but noooooope. The seniors created a facebook group for our graduating class and every post on there is either really elitist, DGAF, or annoying. I am not emotionally prepared to handle those dudes when all I’ve been doing is going on CC and tumblr all summer kadjfladf

Oh and aside from complaining about school, how does one go about asking for rec letters? Both teachers have sign-up sheets that are first come, first serve. So would I just go in there, sign it, and walk out or do I have to do the whole small talk and then eloquently ask them thing.
I know this is overthinking it, but I’m completely awkward and just want to make sure. haha

I am super awkward when it comes to talking to teachers, so it was pretty challenging to ask for recs. I just awkwardly was like “Do you remember me?” “Okay good, so um, like, could you, like, um, write, um, like a like um recommendation letter for me?” “Okay, thanks. Bye…?” and now I have two teachers.

First day of school ended just a few minutes ago, and, of course, my physics class consists of 12 guys and 1 girl.

My high school experience has been great thus far, and the only thing that could put me down is the workload. My teachers are fine, and all my classmates are great. Hopefully I’ll be able to handle it, though.

So, I’m going to awkwardly do this now, as I was to lazy to do it yesterday.

AP Biology - I really love the crop of kids in this class. Most of the kids are serious kids who are in the class to learn. There is this one girl who is semi-annoying, but I can deal. The teacher is really good as well. I’m excited.

AP French 4 - Had the teacher for three years, and I like her. However, most of the kids who were there from the beginning aren’t there anymore, which is kind of sad. Level 4 has been mixed with 3, so we have a good amount of kids in the class. Only 4 Level 4s though, and one of them is thinking about dropping :(. But I like French, and I’m French Club President, so I’m staying.

AP Calculus BC - There are some annoying people and the class is pretty cramped, but I’m happy because the teacher is good, nice, and funny, and I have my good friends with me. The teacher does occasionally curse, which can be funny but inappropriate. It’s not too big of a deal to me, but we have this kid in there with Asperger’s/Autism and I don’t think he is dealing to well with it.

AP Euro - Like the teacher (had her for AP World), but it’s mostly juniors in there. I don’t really know many people, but hopefully that’ll change. I’m excited for the class, and hopefully I’ll make some new friends.

Aide - Love having this period. I’m using it to catch up on homework. I get to chill and I got to choose my lunch so I have it w/ my friends.

AP Government - Don’t have too many good friends in there, but I have a few and it’s okay. The teacher’s okay. She’s nice. Hope it doesn’t get too politics-charged in there.

AP English - This is my least favorite class. I love the teacher, but the class is filled with annoying, loud, boisterous jocks, who took the class because my teacher was pregnant last year, so they probably heard from their friends that the class was easy. They don’t shut up, and the few friends I do have, I can’t sit with them because the room gets too cramped. Meh…

Is anyone else stressing about rec letters? I feel like my teachers, although they know me personally, are gonna write a list of my accomplishments in high school and I really want a more personal, reflective type thing. How do I go about telling teachers their job lol?

Just write a note saying what you would like mentioned in your lor.
Saw one of my teachers today who’s writing my lor and she said she wrote so I just have to wait for Naviance to connect to my Common App and stuff

My fall semester schedule

AP Bio Part 1
Physics Honors
American Studies 2 Honors
PE 12
Health 12
Study Hall

Did anybody have AP bio? How was it? Was it a good course?

AP Bio was sometimes boring, sometimes felt like too much work, but overall I had a super awesome teacher so that really helped! I have good memories from that class. :D

I love my AP Bio teacher and my class.

Random observation: All my teachers are white. My school is very diverse, so this is kind of odd how that happened. I like all my teachers so I’m happy. Just something I noticed, tis all.
