High School Class of 2014

I’ll do it  I love editing

does anyone on this thread go to boarding school? or considering going?

@stylishsmartie how is it possible to take calc bc as a sophomore??? Dude, I thought I was advanced for AB in sophomore year…o.o

@helloel: I want to go to the NC School of Sci and Math. This year is my year to apply. Wish me best of luck!!!

How is you all’s semesters and stuff going so far? I got my report card a few weeks ago and had a 100 in Honors Physics, Honors Chemistry, and Health Science 1 and a 97 in Honors Precalculus. It has been hard trying to balance ECs, course work, church stuff, and leadership positions, but I’m improving at it. I’m concentrating on getting at least a 98 in Honors Precalculus now.

@julieannab haha yeah, at our school you can skip AB completely. So generally the people in Honors PreCalc go straight to BC & the ones in Regular Precalc go to AB.

I’m a sophomore and I’m talking to a senior. Is it a bad idea to start dating knowing they will be leaving for college so soon?

I constantly find myself on a thin line dividing me from Nihilism and Humanism. Today is a Nihilistic day.

Im not doing very well with ecs :frowning: the only school related things I do are key club interact club and nest buddies then outside of school I do piano ballet and youth group. I have no leadership positions but I’m going for key club pressie next year! Don’t make fun of me for saying pressie. Im scared…is that that bad?

i feel so underachieved when everyone is already taking like 5 AP classes, yet im only taking the highest my school can offer, which is not even IB yet. IB is for juniors and seniors only :frowning: no skipping up, lol

@jennay: It’s not bad at all. Most sophomores don’t have leadership material yet because of several things, like transitioning into high school, finding your niche, deciding what’s best for you, etc. But, try your best to stay involved in things for as long as you can. Leadership is really good, but not really necessary.

Don’t worry collegeluva101, you’re not alone  Most people in my grade at school are taking one AP and that includes some of the smartest people I know.
I’m taking 4 APs this year, which is actually more than is typically allowed for sophomore but I was able to double up on math last year to take AP Calc AB and BC this year.
In terms of clubs, I’m kind of screwy because I only belong to our school’s Christian Club and California Scholarship Federation club. I would join Tomorrow’s Medical Community club, but it is known at our school to be very fake where all they do is watch movies. I’m working with my friend to try to form an American Red Cross club next year.
Is anyone else really excited for our PSAT results in December? I reaaallly wanna know what I got…

Sophomore right now… kind of my schedule here.

AP World History
AP Physics
AP USH
Honors Pre-Calc
AP French V

How are you already in APUSH? At my school, you can’t take it until junior year :frowning:
Btw, I just secured an internship with the American Cancer Society - International Cancer Action Network as a web research intern. I am supposed to collect data from scientific literature in a specific field (mine is melanoma) to provide cutting edge info and support for late-stage cancer patients as well as patient advocacy. So excited!

Schedule right now:

Spanish 3
AP Calculus BC
AP Computer Science A
Honors Chemistry
English
AP European History

Is self-studying AP’s a good idea? Just wondering…

@Everyone in AP Calculus AB or BC - What did you skip? Just wondering. At my school, the highest math any Sophomore is in is Pre Calculus and even that is somewhat rare.

@Divad17- I took both algebra 2 and precalculus freshmen year because we have a block schedule at my school (4 classes in fall, 4 new ones in spring)

Schedule: sophomore btw

 • I take no lunch and an the only person in my school who takes 3 languages. Part of model un, debate club. Trying to start fencing team and CT youth forum club. Would be captain of fencing team if formed. What do u think?

Collegeluva, since IB is supposed to be like that colleges won’t think anything if you don’t have any your sophomore year lol. I’m in an IB school too though I do take AP gov and HL math.

I wanna know my psat results too >.< they’re not too useful but they make me feel smart LOL

is anyone else APCalcBCing? :open_mouth: i was too lazy to read the whole thread lawls.
