High School Class of 2015

6.5/10 Seems like the average classes for a sophomore. Based off of other CCers on here that don’t take electives and all yours may come across as easy.

Can someone rate mine please? Sophomore year I’m taking the most APs and honors out of any other sophomore at my school (we aren’t very academic based though)

Fall:
Honors Chem (no AP until junior year)
Honors English II
Honors Civics and Economics
Honors Algebra 2
AP Human Geography (online after school, payed 300$ to take it)(stupid budget cuts)

Spring:
Spanish
AP Human Geography (online)
AP Statistics
AP Psychology
AP Environmental Science
Honors Pre Calc (online)

Chemistry: HARD
English : Easy
Civics & E: Medium
Algebra II: Easy
AP HUGE : Easy
Um, lots of easy courses (unless your not good at math)
so, 6/10.
Those APs are considered generally easy at my school. (though at my school you have to take and finish Pre-cal before you can take Stat, which I’m pretty sure involves calculus or something).

Can you guys rate my sophompre schedule?

Pre-IB Language Arts 2
Spanish 2
Algebra 2 Honors
Chemistry Honors (only honors class that is weighted at my school)
AP Biology
AP European History
PE

Forgot to add that I will self study an AP. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using CC

Why, are there so many rate my schedule posts? There is another thread for that in HSL. It would be better if we leave this thread for other discussions.

Mhmm, true.

Am I the only one getting just a wee-bit annoyed with all these [Insert race, group, etc.] Threads? .-. They’re getting out of control…

^ Yes, they are getting to be annoying. I started the Asian Thread b/c I thought CCers might be able to find something else in common (?), but now this is just starting to get out of hand and make no sense whatsoever.:(

Yeah, I think people just started to get competitive. Well, most of those threads now have been started by the same person. What a ■■■■■. Or you could say by the same people. Still. Trolls.

^Agreed. The pointless threads will disappear eventually, though, if they don’t receive any replies.

@Haden What is a DC class?

It is a Dual Credit/ Dual Enrollment Class.

Any thoughts?

I’m going to be a sophmore, too!

My high school kinda sucks because as a sophmore, I don’t have many options for AP classes. But, I’ll be taking Honors Spanish 7-8 (which gives me an extra grade point), AS English, AS History, Pre-Cal, Chemistry and Art 1-2 (but I’m planning to switch to Psycology).

I play volleyball and I plan to make the JV team this year… Um, I’m actively involved with clubs such as Great Books, Christian Club and I tutor students for free. I volunteer as a hospital in the Physical Therapy Department and I do training at a Dental Office. Umm, I go to church sometimes and I’m planning on getting a job soon. I know my extra curriculars are not enough so I anticipate doing more!

Freshman:
English 9 (94%)
Peace and Justice, social studies course about civil rights pretty much (90%)
Spanish 3 (95%)
Adv Geometry (94%)
Adv Physics (97%)
Health (98%)
Symphonic Band (90%)

Sophomore:
English 10
USH Adv
Spanish 5 (teacher said I could skip 4)
Adv Algebra 2 & Trig ( at my school that is algebra 2 and precalc combined)
Adv Chemistry
Bible and Quakerism (required at a Quaker school)
Concert Choir

And next year I will be a student leader, and a admissions tour guide head. I do the musical, and cross country and track.

Also, my school stopped offering AP courses, is any other school doing this? We can still sit the AP exam for a lot of courses and do SAT subject tests.

Wow no AP classes!!! Thats awful!
Your grades look good but at my school a 90 is a B so I don’t know about yours.
At my school we have CP, Honors and AP.

Sophomore year schedule:
First Semester:
Honors English 2
Honors Civics and Economics
Honors Algebra 2
Honors Chemistry
AP Human Geo (online After school)

Second Semester
Spanish 2
AP Stats
AP Human Geo (online after school)
AP Psychology
AP Environmental Science
Dual enrollment Pre cal

I am in 9 clubs and pres of 3. I am on 3 varsity sports, school musical, I volunteer, student leader at church, student band at church, City youth council, city youth government, class vice president, Elite orchestral group and plays outside of school. Piano and violin

Do you think its bad that I don’t participate in a fine arts class? I have orchestra, and I do plays outside of school. I took theater frosh year

Rate: 9/10.

I think it’s cool you can take semester academic courses. If you’re not really interested in fine arts it’s pointless trying one just too look more rounded, in my opinion. Music and theater are considered arts, too.

Just to get some insight, how long did you guys spend doing homework/studying a night in freshman year?

Thanks! Studying, 40-90 minutes. But it varied. I mean some nights I did nothing. Others I had 2 hours to finish a project.
Freshman year was very very easy for me, the teachers weren’t that strict except for 2 of them

Wow no AP classes!!! Thats awful!

^ Wow that is awful. o___o At my school, anything 90+ counts as an A and gives you the same amount of weight on your GPA.

If I went to your school, I’d probably have a 3.2 GPA right now rofl.

And I’m an upcoming junior this year. Unless you go to a school that offers 5+ APs during sophomore/frosh year, then don’t worry about APs too much (that is of course, unless you’re going for State AP Scholar or Siemens).

In freshman year, I didn’t take any AP classes (only honors and pre-AP). In sophomore year, I only took AP world history. Then again, my school doesn’t offer many APs, but yeah. I did self-study for two APs, but that’s about it. If you want to self-study (eg I took psych because I love everything pertaining to the brain) then go ahead, but don’t force yourself to take a bajillion APs during sophomore year.

That’s what junior year is for (loljk I kid, I kid).

Just to get some insight, how long did you guys spend doing homework/studying a night in freshman year?
^ During frosh year, I was really lazy. I procrastinated so much.
Math (geometry) homework usually took me about 10 minutes, so I finished the homework at school. For my other easy classes, homework usually took 5 minutes and so I usually finished that during class or lunch as well. So on most school nights, I spent little to no time on homework.

The only class I had trouble with was English. I tend to leave things off until last minute, and so whenever my teacher assigned an essay, I’d usually spend one day up until 12PM finishing all of my work.
