^And I mean that in a nice way :)

Perhaps ‘takes over your life’ is more accurate. I swam 13 hours a week last year and I wa nowhere near top level for my age group
Basically because swimming is no impact, training isn’t limited in the same way as it is for other sports, even for teenagers.

Gotcha.

Never swam competitively, but I took swimming lessons until I was like 9 just to get really good, and now I
m not even THAT great, but enjoy swimming. I
d enjoy it, but it is a lot.

So today I start a Physics Honors class for next year. Me and my friend like the teacher who teaches chem hon and regular physics so we talked to the vice principal about it, and she’s cool with it and the teacher agreed to teach it if it processes through the district. This is awesome. Now I can take this instead of anatomy next year.

On the downside, I talked to the basketball coach today when I saw him roaming around the school 4th period, and he wont let me tryout anymore till I get my physical. Uhhh so that means im missing 2 practices until I get it monday morning, and then there’s only two left after that. Uhh I hope this doesnt kill my chances. On the positive side (well not positive but good for me) two guys are getting cut for not having a 2.0 and they were better than me so that helps, and like 10 other people dont have physicals yet either. I guess the coach must like me though if he decided to share the sheet everyone’s GPA and physical status on it. :D

You got physics but not your physical! haha :D

How do you start a class today for next year?

@yerhs haha I didnt make the connection

@Cem Me and my friend really like our Chemistry Honors teacher, and he likes us. He teaches regular physics, and we wanted to be able to take it with him without getting a GPA drop. So we talked it over with him, and he said that he said that he’d actually been dying to teach physics honors, but no one had expressed interest.
I went around asking people to sign saying that theyd take physics honors next year. The teacher recommended 30 signatures (which ended up not even mattering since the VP didnt want the signatures.)
Today we were in the library during english and finished our essays really early, so we figured it’s a better time than ever to go see about the class. We went to the counselor and she thought it was a great idea and directed us to the Vice Principal.
I explained to her why we wanted a physics honors class, and she was impressed that we took the extra motive. She said the teacher had tried bringing it up in passing that he wanted to teach physics honors. She explained the process of how a new class is started. She said that it’s very likely that the district will support the class. The teacher just needs to submit a curriculum syllabus.
We went to our teacher over lunch and told him what the VP said. He said he’ll draw up a syllabus, and send it to the district. It doesnt need to be done till February so he said to bug him everyday until he does it haha.

It was much easier than I expected haha

Ahhh, I see. You started (AKA, actually started, as in, created) a class for the next school year. Gotcha.

yeah exactly! I still don’t understand. lol

He started as in, created a class. Got the principal to agree. Start as in, if we started a fundraiser. Created. For next year.

Okay I see the confusion. It sounds like I started taking the class today, when I actually created a class that did not exist previously.

oh I see. really? your school didn’t have Physics Honors class?? I think I’ll take h. physics next year and maybe AP physics in senior year. I’m taking AP chem right now and it’s really hard but fun.

My school has…not sure about the honors, but for most, it
s regular or AP. Honors Chem, but not Physics, I think. And AP Chem, AP Physics, AP Bio, and AP Enviro…also a class where you take AP Bio and Honors Chem at the same time…one day go to AP Bio, next day, Chem, and so on and so forth. I
ll probably take that next year.

so CE527M, what science class are you taking this year?

You just made me groan, because it
s nothing to be proud of…it
s just earth science…nothing special…and wow, I think my IQ went down a couple points from being in that class…it
s like…wow. So many people in there who don
t get anything…and…just wow. I
ll just stop now while I
m ahead…I think.

I sorta wanted to ask for AP physics, but didnt wanna push it. There’s no cost to start honors physics but they’d need college level books for AP physics.

Oh and my school has Biology, chemistry, chemistry honors, physics, physics honors hopefully, anatomy, anatomy honors, and AP Bio
