@fremont, no but I had a 79.6
this semster

Bummer to the previous posters

Anyone here love classic British Comedy!

I watched all the Fawlty Tower episodes and am now on season 2 of Yes Minister!

^They annoy me a bit, I think mostly because my parents like them.

I don’t think it’s fair to round up. If you didn’t meet the score, you didn’t meet the score. It’s not about math. It’s about showing what you actually earned, not what you were really really close to earning. Think of the other students, who worked that much harder than you to get the A. They deserve an A. You do not. Sorry to sound mean…

In my school teachers round up if you seriously try and give some effort throughout the semester. Otherwise, you’re on your own.
But for what it’s worth, fremont, you don’t sound like the second type of student. Especially because you’re on CC.
I do agree with shmluza, though. Percentages definitely have to do with math. Grades are the only part of english/ social studies that actually are somehow connected to math.
A lot of the times at my school, borderline grades could have been fixed if someone scored just one-two points higher on a test or something like that. It depends on the teacher and the grading scale, but I can safely say that most people enjoy the round-up procedure. I honestly think it’s fair and I haven’t had to be in that situation yet.
Just my two cents.

@kypdurron Eh, depends. Fawlty Towers has one or two good bits, though I’m generally not a fan. I like Monty Python in general though, and Blackadder.

I mostly prefer the more modern topical comedy programmes though I’m afraid.

Blackadder should be compulsory viewing. So far I’ve managed to write about it in 2 pieces of English coursework, and in both I recieved full marks :D

The Life of Brian is also funny, but I admit it’s the only Monty Python I’ve seen.

@almostanonymous how did your french oral go?

Okay, I need help. I am going to be a junior next fall, and I need to decide my classes for junior year.
I am taking AP US history.
I’m not not sure whether to take AP Calc AB or BC!
Also, I am not sure whether to take AP Chem or AP Environmental Science.
And maybe AP Stats? HELP PLEASE!

minniyoon, if you like sciences, take ap chem. It’s really hard but really fun. I’ve heard AP environmental is easy, some told me it was boring. I’m taking AP Chem now it’s so much fun. yeah sometimes I have to work my butts off but hey

I swear to God i love how brits use the words “Im afraid”

What’s Blackadder?

minniyoon, how have you been doing in pre-calc? Are you solid in algebra and trig? Is math one of your strong subjects? then do BC. If not, you could self-study AB over the summer if you really wanted to so that you could still take BC during the school year. If you don’t consider yourself strong at math, you might be better off taking AB.
Unless you are aiming for Siemens/State AP Scholar, don’t bother taking AP Stats. It’s ridiculously stupid and annoying.

Anyone here ever taken AP Macroeconomics?

^No. According to my cousin it is the easiest AP class he had ever taken.

How do we use ‘I’m afraid’??

Blackadder is a 4 series comedy from the 70s, starring Rowan Atkinson, Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie and Tony Robinson. Each series is set in a different time period, from Richard III to Blackadder Goes Forth, set in WWI. The last series is the best, the first very different from the other three :)

It has Stephen Fry and Rowan Atkinson??? I MUST SEE

@kypdurron is it time to post last month’s stat of this thread? lolllol

NO SCHOOL TODAY! :D

I suggest you start here: [Watch The Black Adder - Season 4 Episode 1: Plan A: Captain Cook](http://www.tv-links.eu/tv-shows/The-Black-Adder_9003/season_4/episode_1/) :D

I forgot Tim McInnerny is also in it, taking Laurie’s role in series two and an excpetionally funny role as Private Darling in series 4 :)

I just watched a scarring horror movie, which BBC iPlayer described as only having ‘some violence’ in. A man was ripped apart by horses. I don’t watch horror movies.

This is slightly random, but it seems like a lot of people on CC talk about how sophomore year sucks and how you’re caught in the boring middle between being a freshman and being an upperclassman…am I the only one who actually kind of loves sophomore year? I’m having a great time. It seems like this year has really contained the start of many new beginnings in my life – both in school, extracurriculars, and learning to drive! – and I enjoy it quite a lot.
