High School Class of 2015

@HADES2 I think everywhere has some, unfortunately :/

I thought tiger parents were asian.

^True that.
I loved Les Mis! It’s my favorite movie!

Anyway I’m back now after a couple horrific weeks of projects being piled onto us by ALL (I kid you not) of my teachers. Well, except for band. It’s a little hard to give projects in band. But yeah, I didn’t get a good night’s sleep for the last 2 weeks until last night. There was one particularly bad night where I stayed up until 3 am. xD

How late do you guys normally go to bed? This year it’s probably been 11 on average for me…but then again, taking into account the last 2 weeks…

Anywhere between 11 and 1. Whenever I’ve got a ton of stuff due for AP World that’s due the next day (happens about once a month) it’s usually a 3 AM night. One time I pulled an all nighter to finish my AP World work. This semester, I’m getting better about procrastination.

Got My Schedule Finalized!
Precalc
Spanish III
AP US H
Honors Theology
CLEP Macro and Micro (no school within 80 miles offers the AP)
Physics or AP Envi Sci/Geology
AP English Lang
(1sem) Austrian Economics
(1sem) Programming 1

^nice. The nice thing about being home schooled means you can take a lot of different classes, I’m pretty limited. I wish I could take some sort of theology class, but public school, so. My mom said back when she was in school she took a “Bible as literature” class and it wasn’t even promoting religion, it was more about the Bible as an actual book. Ah well, such is life.

I select classes sometime soon, we have a sophomore class meeting sometime soon.

I’ve been going to sleep around 1 AM due to distractions and procrastination.

my schedule for next year is most likely going to be:
P1. AP Physics B
P2. Gym (required)
P3. APUSH
P4. Leadership Honors/Lunch
P5. AP English Lang
P6. AP Macro/Art
P7. AP Calc BC
P8. Spanish 4 Honors

Leadership, Macro, and Art are all half year courses. And yes, I am not having a lunch for the first half of the year.

guys do you think this constitutes community service? - i run a freelance volunteer pro-bono design and photography business (non-profit) that does work in visual identity and branding for non-profits both local and international (:

@weepingmermaid I think it counts!

Class rankings were posted yesterday from 2nd quarter grades. I’m #18 in my class of about 550. I’m actually kinda annoyed, because last time I was #9. And I know a few of the kids above me don’t care about academics at all…so jealous!

@Josh…I read your schedule quickly and thought you said AP Gym…haha.

Oh and I had my course requests changed, my cr’s for next year are now:
AP English Lang
APUSH
Pre-AP Calculus AB
Financial Investments and Decision-making (local college credit)
Business and Personal Law (SUNY credit)
Honors Physics (co-requisite with Pre-Calc)
Health (required for all 11th graders)
Gym (required all years of school)

I’ll only have lunch for half a year thanks to that stupid health class…

Question guys, and any opinion would be helpful.

I am am currently enrolled as a sophomore in high school. I came from a public school which starts language in 8th grade. So currently I am ahead of many of my peers in that sense. However, I am stuck. Should I take the fourth year of Spanish or should I drop it and take 2 sciences which would be Honors Anatomy and Honors Physics? Regardless of what I take junior year I will be taking AP Bio or AP Chem as a senior. I have already taken Honors Biology and Chemistry so now I have the option to pick the course or courses I want. Keeping in mind that I plan to major in Sports Medicine would it be smarter to take the two sciences or the fourth year of Spanish? And would not taking the fourth year hurt my chances in getting into certain colleges?

And btw i would personally rather drop Spanish but I don’t know.

I finally decided I’ll give AP world a try!

I acted in my first play today. I was so worried I’d break character (its a funny play and when people laugh, I’m usually not able to stop myself from joining in.) But I pulled it off without any gaffes. Three more showings to go

^^plays are pretty big at my school. This year we did Little Shop of Horrors in January and will do Don’t Drink The Water in April. I auditioned for both, didn’t make Little Shop but did make DDTW…as a walk-on. I’m also being in one play in the One Act Festival in 2 weeks. The most fun I had in Drama Club though was at Combat Theatre…after end of the school year, we spend 2 days doing it. We are put into teams and have to write and act out a play that fits some criteria set randomly (genre, setting, etc). Soooo much fun!

I’m currently running for post of an Aedile (in Pompeii) in our mock elections in Classical Civ at the moment, it’s brilliant. Makes me want to go into politics more :D

@UKgirl, good luck! Let us know what happens.

What made me want to go into politics were last year’s AP government, and mocktrial.
