High School Class of 2015

@nomatterwhat, I may do AP world too!

^aha so glad I’m doing it this year and have APUSH to look forward to next year…I love my class…but not the content. Enjoy, my fellow 15ers!

CE you’re doing AP world??? You’ll have to tell me about it!

are any of you guys planning to take sat ii subjects test? for me I am going to take physics and French sat ii!

shmulza, why yes, yes I am. :)

What do you want to know exactly? I could probably write a 10 page essay on my AP World experience. I’d be glad to help.

I came close to doing something stupid today. This girl I like’s boyfriend left her a week ago. Since then she’s been smoking weed (she smoked before that, but she’s been using it as a retreat since then-which I did not know.) Me and her have been hanging out a lot since the breakup, and there’s been a lot of flirting. Today she asked me to smoke with her after school, “A lot can happen when you’re high.”

I like(d?) her so I actually started to consider doing it. But through the course of the day she kept trying to convince me, and I noticed how many lies I caught her in. I told 3 friends about it and the first two (my two best friends) told me to do what I want. But the third friend is an ex smoker and he told me all the reasons why I shouldnt, and also he’s discussed all the reasons why I shouldnt indulge the girl, and how once you do drugs once there’s no going back.

Anyway I ended up telling her “No I wont do it.” “Why?” “I dont even trust you.” In turn she ended up getting her exboyfriend and getting high with him. Then they found me, and she was all messed up- pressing her face on the glass and screaming “I love you.”

Uh so glad I didn’t do it. Thank god for good friends. This was your hallmark moment of the day :)

I don’t really know what to say to that^ so I’ll just say good job.

^agreed. I can never understand why drugs are so popular.

I had the induction day for my new school (from August) today, it was so nice! Everyone was friendlier than I’d expected and the rooms (boarding) and bigger, but we will hae to share for at least one term during the two years. Something they assured us throughout the applications wouldn’t happen!

CE, if next year I take AP world, I’ll be constantly bugging you - what is important, what I need to memorize… etc. etc. I hope you do well in the test in May. I’m taking APUSH. If I do well, I can answer your questions in return.

goodnoodle - you’re g-o-o-d. You know how to say NO when you should! good for you!

My light starts flickering ominously whenever I plug my memory stick into my laptop. Trying to figure out if the two things are connected or not :/

So I finished acting in the last showing of the play last night. I’m so glad I did the play and cant wait for the next one.

Also I found out I get to host the next rally, The Boys vs Girls rally. The boys have two hosts and the girls have two. I’m one of the boys. It’s gonna be awesome haha

That’s good you know what gender you are, goodnoodle. :p

@shmulza…Definitely do bug me, I’ll be more than happy to answer questions! It’s a good class, it’s just different from APUSH from what I hear because AP World is all about themes, barely any memorization of actual dates and people. We took a practice AP exam as a midterm and I got a 3 according to my teacher, so hopefully with even more studying I can pull off a 4 at least! Thanks for offering to answer questions about APUSH for me; definitely looking forward to APUSH, it’s more my forte than World. :)

CE you have more than two months to study. You should get a 5, okay? and I will definitely ask you questions. here is my first question - what is the textbook you’re using? is it good?

^I only hope, but I don’t think I will; I’d be perfectly happy with a 4, so a 5 will be terrific. I’ll try for a 5 for APUSH.

We use this World Civilizations: The Global Experience, AP Edition: [pearsonschool.com: Social Studies](<a href=“Page Not Found |”>Page Not Found |)

I have a love hate relationship with that thing; it has great timelines, pictures (yes I like the pictures :D) and the content in it is very comprehensive, but I find it (as does everyone in my class) pretty dry and somewhat boring. Half of it is probably me not liking world history in the early ages (I glanced at the chapters about modern times which looked more interesting) and half of it is that it could be more interesting.

The book does help, and I recommend getting your own copy (or maybe it’s required for you guys anyhow; my teacher gave us a copy to use plus I bought my own) because I highlight stuff and I think it’s good enough to keep for college or something. I HIGHLY recommend reading it on your own time (whether your teacher requires you too or not) because I think it helps me understand things better in class, and helps me get better test grades.

Wow, that was long, sorry! :o Hope that helps.

First day of track…My. Legs. Hurt.

BAD.

LOL CE, I went to ski with my school last Friday. my whole body still hurts.

^Well at least you didn’t fall down the mountain :D

It’s supposed to snow 2-5 inches tomorrow night, beyond happy.

I went to my first swim practice today. My first meet is tomorrow.

At my school, swim is in the winter. Interesting. For a minute, I was like, does the West Coast have different seasons at different times? Haha.

Good luck.

^really? It doesn’t seem like a good idea to swim in the winter with cold water
