High School Class of 2015

@hopeforDCjacob,
LOL I love the nickname “Bumblef-.” That area must be pretty bad. My town’s not that bad, though, I like to complain about it. You near any cities?

@ifax108 Hmm… Knoxville is about 1 hour west. It’s always fun to complain! :D

Ah, Knoxville. Named after the only person more Jacksonian than Jackson, James K Polk.
Love the Democratic slogan, “We Polked you in '44, We’ll Pierce you in '52.”

I live in a suburb of the Tri-Cities area. I think it’s crazy how our area balances having farmers, upper class, and rednecks…

@hopeforDCjacob,
I’ve noticed that too. People in my town complain a bit, even though they don’t have much to complain about.

Where I live (East TN, near Sevierville) Vanderbilt is worshiped like a cult. It’s SO ANNOYING. >:(

I love complaining how nothing happens in my town too.

heheh I’m from Middle Tenn!

Oh Yeah, here is my high school course plan

Freshman:
Language Arts Honors
World History Honors
Geometry Honors
Biology Honors
Spanish 2
Health/ Fine Art

Too many people from tennessee! Don’t make me listen to your governor, but i wouldn"t mind if you went to estes kefauver’s grave and prayed to him!

^ side note: At least he died in his sleep.I think he was AWESOME! Woahhh, did we ASK to be born in Tennessee, I sure didn’t. :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: I pay so much attention, I don’t know WHO the governor is.

Kefauver, Gore Sr, Ralph Yarborough, and LBJ were the last legendary liberal southerners. I guess we could even count Fulbright in here as well.

@jacob Oh Sevierville. You probably get all of the Dollywood rednecks coming through, right?

Hey guys, could I get some advice on my freshman schedule?

Advanced Honors Precalc
Advanced Biology (there is no honors bio)
Honors English
Honors World History 1
Latin 1
Orchestra
Music Theory 1 (fall semester, study halls spring semester)

I’m currently self studying AP bio (with an extensive biology background) to hopefully take the exam in the spring.

ECs: I play violin in a youth orchestra and take private lessons. I am in Science Olympiad, Science Bowl, and I’m going to try USABO. Might join some other clubs if I find ones that interest me.

sshsdancer YES!!! Dollywood is overpacked in the summer. It isn’t THAT big… It’s kinda nice during the off season though. I mf** hate rednecks!!!

Your a freshman and taking Advanced Pre-Calculus-EEK! That makes my freshman schedule look horrible. I think your courses look very hard. GOOD LUCK!

Precalc already? I plan to take Pre-Calc next summer, so I can skip it and go to Calc BC after Alg 2 this year.
That’s a pretty awesome schedule. What state?

PoliticalProtege, I’m in Pennsylvania. My middle school had good accelerated math options – 2 of us were taking Advanced Alg II in 8th grade, and I have a friend who took Precalc in 8th and is taking Calc (BC, I believe) next year as a freshman.

Thanks SeattleBulldog, good luck to you too!

I live in DC! but I go to a school outside of d.c “Remember the titans”

Guys, my district won’t let me skip ANY classes!!! GAWR!!! Stupid rules… :'(

Here is a question for you. It came up in one of my readings, I’m sure some of you know the answer but I don’t - I mean I’m not sure: How were the representatives chosen before the 17th amendment after which the senators have been directly selected by the people in each state.
How was it before the 17th amendment - that is my question.
