Hello, everyone! I used to be relatively active on this thread, but I’ve been on somewhat, of a hiatus-- I haven’t posted since July of last year haha. I spent most of my time on the Prep School Admissions Board. Did anyone else apply to Prep Schools this year?

Anywho!

I envy many of your class schedules. In comparison, mine is incredibly mediocre and far below par:

Freshman:
Semester 1-
Honors English 9
Honors World Geography
Algebra 1
P.E.
French 1
Earth Science

(switched schools)

Semester 2-
English 9 (No Honors offered)
Algebra 1
Earth Science

Tentative Sophomore Schedule-
(switching schools)
Honors English 10
Honors World History
Honors Biology
Algebra 2 (taking Geometry over the summer)
French 1
Philosophy
P.E.

I recently started (about a year ago) doing freelance photography. It’s acts as a great creative outlet!

my next year schedule:
(chemistry over the summer)
AP Biology
AP Chemistry or AP European History (not sure which to choose, sob. I’m only doing AP Euro if taking both AP chem and bio is too hard)
Honors World History 2
Honors English
Russian 3
Honors Pre-calc
Gym

As for outlets… creative writing for sure. But I also listen to science podcasts/lectures for fun- just listening, not really trying to study it. I’m a bit of a nerd, though, so it probably doesn’t apply to most people, haha.

My schedule next year
Pre-Cal Honors
English II Honors
Chemistry Honors
AP Latin Vergil
AP European History
AP Biology
AP Statistics

and my outlets? singing, dancing, playing piano, hanging out with friends. I’m a huge TV/Pop culture junkie so catching up on TV shows and movies and music is always fun for me =)

starkali; I seriously wish I learned about prep schools sooner. ): By the time I found out, all of the acceptance letters started trickling in already. But based on what I’ve seen/heard online, Millbrook is a prime example of my dream school. Love at first sight omglfjalksj. Do you know where you’re heading next year?

Oh shoot, I didn’t know writing/the arts was so popular. :’) I FEEL LIKE I BELONG NOW. LOL.

As for summer plans, I’m going to do a whole lotta sleeping…eating…getting fat. The usual. And volunteering, continuing my one day a week job (which is sweet because I make twenty five a day :'D), computer-ing.

Perfecting my conversational French and learning to read Khmer. I am determined to be multilingual lolol. And drawing. And more eating. Yee. Good life. I’m so psyched for summer. :)

Well, at our school, the principal announced over the intercom that they were bringing in drug dogs due to an uptick in drug-related suspensions. Needless to say, they found nothing because everyone most likely brought their illegal drugs home.

We do see quite a few kids getting arrested though for drugs at my school. It’s kind of sad. I remember hearing rumors that half the hockey team got suspended for being caught drinking. Never found out if it was true.

^There are policemen at my school. They can be quite rude at time. Shooing parents away from places where they can’t park. Some people are scared of the security guys, because they usually aren’t very happy. The security people deep down are nice guys, but appear like monsters.

We have a school resource officer, and he is a really nice guy. Sure, he can be stern if he needs to be, but he really cares for the well-being of the students.

i’m self-studying algebra II right now so i can go straight into pre-calc next year. LOL have any of you guys gotten through that/any tips at all?

I got a fantastic internship as a project manager for this environmental advocacy group! I’m so excited, and I’m ready to work my butt off. If any of you guys have an environmental club at your school, contact me because we provide grants for projects and such. It’d be wonderful if the advocacy group could network with your club. The group is called Greening Forward!

got all As.
studying for AP gov. Who are taking AP Gov? are you confident about the exam coming up?
well, I’m not, not really. That’s why I’m studying like mad.

^lucky. Freshman aren’t allowed to take APs at my school. And right now my schedule for next year has an easy blow off elective but should I take AP environmental instead? Anyone already taken it? And the rest of my schedule is all honors and AP euro.
