^Where do you plan on applying?

a 750 is not bad at all, good job.

How long did it take for the SAT II Math 2 scores to come in? I’m planning on taking it in January.

Hi guys. Just wondering, what summer programs (or activities) did you participate in last year?

Last summer I took an online drivers ed class. What about you guys?

I basically just volunteered a ton over the summer. In July, there were 3 days a week in which I would spend 7-10 hours volunteering at camps and at the Red Cross or local library.

I think I’m going to take the SAT II Math 2 in January, but I’m not sure… Tomorrow’s the last day to register, I think, but I want to get my hands on a Barron’s book before I register to see if I can review the material in time.

Has anyone taken any of the science SAT subject tests? I was planning on waiting until I finish AP chem before taking the SAT II for it but my honors chem teacher has taught a bunch of stuff already and it would be great not having to worry about it next year.

No, I plan to take chemistry after chem 2 next year and also math 2 on the same day. I didn’t do anything last summer and I don’t know what I’ll do this summer

do you guys know of any of those free summer programs (that you apply to) for stem, business, medicine, etc. that are available for rising sophomores?

maybe you guys participated in some of them…?

On an unrelated note, Is a 205 on the PSAT good for a sophomore?

⬆hell yes
10 char

That’s really good. Wow.

Yep, I got a 181, great job. For the summer thing I did some Catalina Island marine science thingy and upward bound.

Forever waiting for my PSAT score

It’s great!

@Jawmess if you don’t get it soon after break ends, you can probably just call the school or ask at the front office, that’s what I did and I got my score a few days before everyone else haha

I took the Bio SAT II and got a 770. Since I’m self studying AP Bio right now, I realize that it would’ve been a much better idea to wait until I’m done with AP Bio prep to take the thing, but meh. I don’t plan on retaking it. I will be taking SAT II Chemistry and retaking Math 2 in either May or June.

@anonemuss, I’ll be applying to Harvard, Yale, Duke, MIT, Princeton, WashU, Rice, Emory, Johns Hopkins, and a few safeties. I’ll also probably apply to several BS/BA+MD programs.

@Idominate, it took about two-three weeks.

@loltired, I reviewed the Barron’s book in the week before the test and managed a 750. I’m sure if you take about a month, you’ll do much better than I did. Come to think of it, I may register for the Jan. 25 test.

Haven’t been on here in so long…congrats to all of you who got great PSAT scores! (:

I’m on vacation right now with my cousins and one of them who’s also a sophomore was crying about a 227 yesterday. I guess that’s how you feel about a score under 240 when you have two siblings who go to Harvard and Stanford.

@TeamRocket - You know EXACTLY what colleges you’re applying to already? Kudos to you, but don’t you feel that you have so much more time to tour and research colleges? On an unrelated note, what do you want to major in?

I took Math lvl 2 subject test last year and got a 740. Should I retake?

^I would. Depends on if you’re a math-oriented person, though. A 740 could be a good score for someone who’s slanted towards the humanities.

@TeamRocketGrunt best of luck!

@sonofgod I’d probably retake, especially since the curve is so lenient. If you took it last year and youre a sophomore now, then you could probably improve, especially with a bit of practice

Is anyone planning on taking the AMC? If so, the 10 or 12? I took PreCalc last year but my school isny letting people take the AMC on both dates so I’m trying to decide…
