The main addition in BC is series/sequences. (And parametrics/polars, but to a lesser extent).

You should totally watch House of Cards. It is probably my favorite show. Highly recommend it.

I’m stuck on what English class I should take next year. I have a choice between Honors English 3 with the AP Literature teacher who is really good at teaching and whose class I plan to take senior year as well. Or I could take AP English Language with a teacher who isn’t good at teaching at all and an easy A+. The only risk I have going into Honors English 3 is that I might not get the teacher I want because we can’t choose them unless it’s an AP Class.

Also thinking on whether I should self study AP Physics C as well, I did AP Physics B this year but I’m taking Calculus AB next year. Thinking on whether I should do the mechanics part junior year and the electricity part senior year, or doing it all junior year,or just not doing it.

@gbrl10 yep! Thanks and good luck to you, too! I plan on applying to Summer Ventures but I’ve been putting it off… we have a 6 day weekend coming up soon though so maybe I’ll finish that then. What’d you put as your first choice major topic area thing?

@TeamRocketGrunt I’ll definitely check it out! Maybe after finals, though… and that doesn’t sound too bad… lol our calculus teacher basically complains about how dumb the class is compared to last year’s BC class so she’s been going really easy on us.

@desigirl
Yeah my teacher sucks

@loltired
First: Computer Science
Second: Mathematics
Third: Engineering
Fourth: Physical Science

I haven’t seen a lot of computer science or programming courses though.

It’s funny because that’s basically what I put, except for Engineering, which I replaced with Applied Mathematics and Physical Science was my second choice.

Haha, I did put applied mathematics, until I looked up what it was. I would probably pick it as a fifth choice if there was one.

Hey, so recently I have been pretty obsessed with earning some money but I’m too busy to really work at any where. So i thought about applying for scholarships. I spent like forever trying to find suitable scholarships, and I actually found some pretty strange ones like making a duck tape prom dress. There were also many essays and whatever.

SO my question is: would starting a club at school organizing students to apply for scholarships be popular? Like would you join? My idea is students getting together and figure out deadlines for applications, work on essays together, starting a project together or whatever.

@loltired @gbrl10 Are you talking about NCSSM? I’m applying there too. I have already submitted my application in October…it was such as mistake. But Idk if I’ll get in.

@ThePedestrian I was talking about Summer Ventures, and I didn’t apply to NCSSM but @loltired did.

I considered not applying to NCSSM because It is really difficult to get into. But i guess it doesn’t hurt to try. But I probably won’t go even if I get in.

Are you an earth-bender?
Cause you got me rock hard!

Now it’s time to finish studying. :P

@ThePedestrian I thought that too. So I didn’t apply. Plus, I would’ve had to taken the SAT, and looking at my PSAT scores, I probably wouldn’t have done that well.

oh yeah. I’m taking the SAT JAn 25. My PSAT scores were only mediocre. But I was gonna take the SAT anyways so…yay for me :/

@ThePedestrian I submitted my app two days ago! I guess how hard it is to get in depends on where you live and go to school. My sister went there 5 years ago so my parents are kind of pushing me to go, or at least apply. Good luck with the SAT hahah. Oh by the way, there’s a thread thing about NCSSM in the Prep School Admissions category if you’re interested for any reason

@gbrl10 lol I haven’t read any of the descriptions… guess I should get on that hahah

WOW i just finished a 3 hour study sesh for my chem final tomorrow and I’m actually amazed at how I was able to not procrastinate, considering that I was using the computer.

Speaking of study seshes, I actually need to concentrate my efforts in the next two weeks on SAT II Math 2 and calculus BC. I bought Dr. Chung’s for Math 2 and took the first practice test today. Got a 640 :(

Awh, I’m sure you’ll do fine! I’m not sure about Dr. Chung’s Math 2 book, but his normal SAT math book had a bunch of crap that was never on the SAT when I took it and I doubt it will show up often on other tests. Good luck, though. I’m still making my way through the Barron’s book. I’ve noticed that some answers are wrong though, or maybe I’m just reallllly bad at math lol…

I’m just really scared I won’t be able to get at least a 790 this time :(

Hey guys
I just found this thread, oops. Go '16!

Theoretically speaking, one could just take the ACT and AP tests, and be done with everything, rather than taking the SAT + 2 subject tests and AP tests right? Would colleges look upon this as looking for the easy way out?
