My chem teacher was recommending people for science classes next year and she basically was like, “YOU SHOULD TAKE AP CHEM!!” and she teaches ap chem and it’s supposedly really hard and only one person has an A even with an AP scale LOL

does this schedule sound really terrible?

AP Lang
Honors Advanced Chem (required for AP chem, i think)
AP Physics 1
Multivariable Calculus (maybe at the local uni or something)
AP Physics C
AP Chem
APUSH
Honors Spanish 4

We have block scheduling so it’s really confusing.

That schedule is amazing, calm down.
You’re taking a class more advanced than AP Math, AP History, AP English, and 3 AP Sciences which are generally considered that hardest.

Well, what I meant was does it sound like an overbearing amount of work? I want to take both AP Chem and AP Physics but not if I end up doing terribly in both because I can’t handle it.

Thank you, everyone! I think that I’m going to take AP Biology, I like biology and I’ll just request a certain teacher that I know I like. I’ll just take AP Psych senior year.

BTW: I asked my counselor whether AP Psych counted for science credits because I thought it wouldn’t but I wanted to just check and it does, she said that it is study of the mind which is a science according to her. Works for me, so, I’ll just take that senior year.

Oh, Psych doesn’t count as science here. It’s considered a social science but it’s considered a social studies elective. I’m taking AP Psych this year and it is literally so easy.

How many APs are you guys currently taking? I’m taking two (or three, still haven’t decided). Bio and Cal BC woot woot (perhaps chem, probably not)

I feel so behind the rest of you guys I mean, you guys are taking stuff like chem and physics, and here I am with bio and cal. Yay inadequacy

I’m currently taking AP Calc BC, AP Psych, and AP Stats.
AP Psych is a joke though and Stats probably will be too.

@gbrl10 It’s going to be one semester at my school. One semester for Physics 1, one semester for Physics 2, and I think it’s also one semester for Physics C, both E&M and Mechanics

@loltired Thanks, I had to make sure. I probably will never get to take AP Physics C though, since it’s calculus based, and I’m not taking that until senior year.

Wait, what’s AP Physics 1/2? I thought it was AP Physics B?

Lol I haven’t even had a basic physics class I focus on chem, bio, and math. I’m going to rectify that over the summer, though.

I’ll be taking AP Stats and AP Chem in junior year (may or may not take the chem class). Hear stats is a joke, and I’ll probably toss in another AP to self study (really interested in AP Govt.)

@teamrocketgrunt I heard AP Govt was pretty easy, but interesting. I noticed that you don’t get credit for it at a lot of colleges I want to go to, though, so I probably won’t take it. Or maybe I’ll take it senior year… who knows. Are you taking a class over the summer or just self studying? I want to take an intro physics course over the summer and hopefully place into Physics C next year if I go to boarding school but I have no idea where and how I could take it. I also have a terrible lack of self control so I can’t trust myself to self study anything lol.

@gbrl10 Maybe you could take it concurrently with calculus if you really wanted to?

I have a friend who’s a freshman and I just found out he’s taking AP bio next semester…
he took honors bio & honors chem this semester and ugh it’s not even fair because everyone else taking AP bio had to take honors advanced bio and we aren’t even supposed to take AP classes as freshmen… sigh.

I want to self study AP Gov because of House of Cards (anyone else here watch it?) and because it seems quite interesting. I’ll probably begin self study over the summer.

As for physics, I plan to do the same thing. I’ll probably go through Khan Academy’s physics videos over the summer and, since I’m doing calculus BC now, I’ll probably be prepared to place into AP Physics C if I go to boarding school. Now all that stands in the way of that plan is me finishing my essays and work sample for the application I haven’t even started, and I have like a month left.

Hmm I’ve never seen House of Cards. That’s a great idea, I’ll probably hit up Khan Academy as well. Just wondering, is BC completely different from AB? We just finished the AB half of our BC class and I’m trying to decide if I have enough time to do the school play next month and maintain a good grade in math. I submitted my boarding school app like 2 days ago, but it’s due on the 15th sooo

@loltired Was it to NCSSM? Good luck! I decided not to apply there, and just apply to Summer Ventures.
If I can concurrently take them, I probably will. I thought calculus was a pre-requisite for it.
