@TheAtlantic: I’m in AP Art History, and it’s definitely kicking my butt. Everything else looks good to me though! <3

@loltired: I am SO. JEALOUS. Why can’t I have teachers that curve my tests ridiculously?!

@TeamRocketGrunt: It really is inspiring to see what people in past times did. It’s one of the reasons I find history interesting. I’m currently studying the Renaissance right now in one of my classes, and it’s amazing to see what people could do with the same amount of time that I have in my life. Crazy. It really is inspiring. So I wish you the best of luck! <3

@sillyface: I think if you’re involved with your extra-curriculars, you’re going to be fine. I don’t do too many things either, but I am very passionate about the stuff I do balance. Besides, you should enjoy the clubs you do as much as you can, because we only get to do high school once. It’s not worth juggling things you’re not passionate about just for college.

So it’s officially been a week since I’ve been around, and a week since I came back from my first super hard-core debate tournament. I actually did really well, and I’m still kind of in shock. It was more luck than anything, but the pretty trophy on my shelf is kind of nice. =)

How is everyone doing? Struggling with homework like me? =P

I actually might do 3 and drop art history, but it’ll depend on if I my mom agrees to 0 period
My school basically redid is AP Program thus year to allow for better scheduling.

So I got my worst grade ever on my AP World History final I still have a B but I was shooting for an A. I did really well on this essay we wrote but the MC test I failed! I can’t believe it…

@TheAtlantic: I’d rather not say, actually. I placed well enough that my name would be associated with the tournament, probably. =p

@TeamRocketGrunt: Whatever you can come up with. So many people don’t know what they need until they see it. I think if you can come up with something different, then you’ll be great.

@jlh: hugs I’m so sorry for you. That sucks. But at least you still have a B in the class, right?

I’m planning to get ahead this weekend so my life isn’t as chaotic as it has been in the past two weeks. Lots of APAH, and I’m officially starting my PSAT/SAT prep. I’ve also been looking into a few scholarships, since my parents barely have anything saved up for me for college thus far (if you guys have any suggestions, please let me know!!).

Are there scholarships that sophomores can apply to?

I’m currently trying to figure out what to base my business in (which is why I asked the question about what we need in the market). Finding the initial startup money is also going to be a challenge.

Yeah. I really don’t like the Sahel topic, cause lay judges don’t buy certain frameworks or interpretations. It was much easier to be unique but still convincing on previous topics. Especially proliferation.

I generally have several versions of a case ready to go depending on the judge.

I worded my cases really well on the Immigration Topic though.
My pro actually would have come off as more offensive then my con though, the way I established it.

I did really like going con though, cause despite me being in favor of a PtC, it was a really fun/free side

@TeamRocketGrunt: That’s what I’m looking into haha. I’m really trying to find anything that offers money as a reward- so a lot of competitions have been coming up. I’m still doing research to find some good ones, even if they’re for next year, since a ton of deadlines have passed. I’m also planning to talk to my guidance counselor (who I haven’t really talked with) about some opportunities that are maybe more local.

@TheAtlantic: I actually do Congress and Foreign Extemp! Congress is what my school is known for, and I like it, so that’s what I do. I have some good friends that do PF though. And it seems like everyone here does PF, haha. The topic for this month, I think, is a good one, although I’m not fond of next month’s.

Spent some time today trying to figure out what classes my school offers for juniors. I know I’m going to take:

AP AB Calc
AP English 3
APUSH
PAP Spanish 4 [maybe AP if they decide to get rid of AP 5 and just do AP 4]
AP Chem
Debate 3 Honors

but I’m not sure what electives they’re going to let me take. I really want to take AP Psych and AP Econ, but then I’m not sure if the latter will cover my credit for Macro/Micro. I’m also thinking about Environmental Sciences for next year. So I guess I’m going to have to talk to my GC about my options.

I haven’t studied Math 2 in like a week. Oops.
I have a bunch of AP Calc free responses due for class though ugh thank god for the 6 day weekend
