I like how y’all are complaining about y’all’s 70’s In CR when I made like a 53 xD and a 51 in writing… I didn’t finish I though. I got a 65 in math though I mean I was pretty proud of myself but idk now. Guess I’d better get to studying before I take the actual SAT lolol

^^Same here^^

So I found this little gem: [Academic Index3 - College Confidential](http://www.collegeconfidential.com/academic_index3.htm)

Basically, this gives you a look at how competitive you are numbers wise for the top colleges by analyzing your scores and GPA in the context of your class size. For me, a projected SAT I score of 2250 (750 across the board), projected highest SAT II score of 780 and next highest of 770 (which I already have in bio-M), and a 3.8 GPA yields an “academic index” of 230.5, which is “very competitive academic stats.” All projections, except perhaps my SAT II score, are conservative ones; I’ll probably end school with a 3.9+ UW GPA and may even get a 2250+ SAT.

You guys should check it out.

273.5
assuming I’m able to get 800s on both my subject tests, which will hopefully be doable. and with my sat i math score going up to 780 which shouldnt be too unreasonable if i can cut out careless mistakes. also assuming i dont go to boarding school and stay first in my class.
lol

@TheAtlantic: Congress is actually super legit here, especially in my circuit. It sucks having so many good people, but I really enjoy doing it, so I can’t complain. ;)

@TeamRocketGrunt: GOOD LUCK!! I’m sure you’re going to rock that SAT 2.

@loltired: I am SO jealous that you have a SIX day weekend. Mine is only 3. And I, um, haven’t started any of my homework yet…

@tyler: I feel you. My CR is pretty low, and my writing is abysmal. =P

//

Alright, having another predicament. I want to go into pre-med, but I took my SAT 2 for Biology last year, at the encouragement of my AP Bio teacher. She insisted that we take it anyways, without extra studying, because we were preparing for the AP exam. Well, I ended up getting a 700 on M, and 720 on E, since I really had no idea what kinds of questions they were going to ask. Is it possible for me to retake it again? Should I??

Hey, guys! Found CC a while ago, but just decided to join today (finally getting into the whole college craze.) Read a few pages of this thread; I’m so impressed with all the work that fellow '16ers are already doing. Makes me feel a bit worried.
Bear with me as I learn all the lingo/terms!

@Almond- I saw that you do Congress debate! It’s cool that you really enjoy it. I went to my first tournament about a month ago and I can say I was totally unprepared. I’m doing debate as an afterschool activity, not the legitimate class, and my school’s debate “club” doesn’t have a coach. I’m learning from scratch from fellow Congress students, and it’s apparent that they’re annoyed with having to teach newbies the basics. Needless to say, that tournament was atrocious. Hopefully I’ll do much better in the future.

I got 250 when I plugged in 730 for CR, 780 for writing, and 800 for math (what I’m predicting I’m actually going to score, despite CR being a little low) for the SAT I, and 800 and 780 for SAT IIs (CANNOT get under an 800 on math 2 when I do take it, and hopefully getting a 780+ on chem later this year). I’m predicting I’m going to be in the top 5% of my class, but not hoping for val because there’s this MENSA-certified genius kid in my grade and my GPA is screwed up already. :P

Random question, but who are all of your favorite historical figures?

Wendy Williams. NeNe Leaks. Wanda Sykes.

@Almondjoy7 ahhh well at least you have monday off! Have fun with that homework though hahh. I spent literally triple the time I was supposed to to answer these FRQs but ugh my teacher is counting it as a test grade maybe.

@catchinginfinity I could be MENSA certified but honestly, what’s the point? Good luck with the SAT and SAT Subject tests!

Guys in need help. My school decided to start teaching AP World history which I really want to take. Me and the smartest kids in my grade are to scared to take AP US History (only 1 A ever) so we were going to take AP World History and regular US History. I really need a scholarship so I was wondering if I should do the above plan or take AP US History AND AP World History.

@loltired -THAT’S AWESOME. I’m too stupid to even consider that haha. No, but this kid has been in MENSA since he was 8. D:

@Pi - I’m not a history person, so I personally wouldn’t go that route. You really have to evaluate the type of learner you are personally.

Eh, MENSA isn’t too difficult. I’m sure many of us on CC could get it if we tried to.

My favorite figures are Andrew Carnegie, Cornelius Vanderbilt, and John Rockefeller.

@catchinginfinity, why can’t you get below an 800?

@ephera: Welcome! I took the plunge into CC myself just a few weeks ago, since I decided it was time for me to become a part of the college craze as well. I definitely feel a little intemidated by the awesomeness here as well, but we’re all here to support each other. =)

And yes, I do Congressional Debate! My first tournament was quite overwhelming, so don’t worry at all. Since this is my 2nd year in debate, I’m in the class, which is quite helpful. My team is actually student-led, so my fellow Congress kids have been used to having to teach the newbs. I really hope that you get to go to another tournament! In my opinion, you learn the most from going to tournaments, because a lot of Congress is watching and learning how it’s done. Politicking, being polite, procedures, all that stuff is hard to teach. So just going to tournaments for practice, like I did freshman year, is the best way to get better, IMHO.

@catchinginfinity: You can still definitely raise that GPA!! Who cares about that other weird kid, ugh. You’re OBVIOUSLY smarter than him/her. ;)

@loltired: Well, if those FRQs are a test grade, then you’ll definitely be covered at least! Also, I now have to do almost all of my homework tomorrow because I was out of the house for most of today. Le sigh.

@Pi: Seconding catchinginfinity here.

@

@catchinginfinity Don’t worry about that kid! I bet you’re cooler than him anyway, and I’m sure your college essays will reflect it.

@Almondjoy7 I just found out that I might have done the wrong FRQs hahah, well my teacher said the 2008 ones but there are two versions. Ehhh. Guess I’ll find out on Thursday or if her son decides to text me back. How much homework do you have?

Also it’s 3:30 AM and my sleeping schedule is so screwed up. :(

@Team: Does this have something do with your new business kick? :P

Is MENSA really not that difficult to get into…?

@Team - I’m betting that I’m not going to be able to get an 800 on any other subject test and I want to pursue some form of math in the future, so it’d just be a little disappointing if I got anything under an 800.

@loltired - Haha, he’s a pretty awesome and hilarious guy so nothing against him. But thanks for your encouragement, hopefully I’ll just learn to focus on my own path and not worry about what others are doing.

For anyone that’s in AP World, does anyone know any CONTINUITIES between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance?

@Almond: Thanks for the welcoming! :)

Glad to know. Yeah, that tournament told me a loooot about what I didn’t know and what I should keep in mind for the next tournament. I wish my team were as adept and willing to teach newbs, but ah, I’ll just have to keep going to tournaments to get the experience I need.

@loltired: Aww, I hope that you did the right ones!! That would suck if you didn’t, but consider yourself better prepared for the tests. =) Right now, homework wise, I have left: chem lab questions, a Pre-Clac worksheet, a Pre-Calc log/quiz thingy, reading like 100 pages of a book, and APAH thumbnotes (which are going to take like three hours ughhh). Did you manage to get more homework done?

Going outside to do my homework. Changing it up a little in hopes that I can get more stuff done. Plus, it’s 72 degrees, so I can’t complain.

In my AP chem class a junior told me “teachers only want the worst for you.” I think this true about a lot of teachers.
