High school class of 2016

Class of '16 here! Just found this thread and from what I see, the current topic is Chemistry? It’s a bit ironic because I’m currently doing my chemistry homework right now. My teacher’s teaching method is a bit fast-paced and I’m struggling a bit. Any tips or books that you guys recommend?

@ZealousStudent You could always watch Khan Academy videos or look up Chemistry videos on YouTube…

@ZealousStudent: Zumdahl, hands down.

So a group of researchers at Harvard University are on the verge of confirming that they’ve detected the first primordial gravitational waves that would give support to the inflationary model of how the universe got to its present state. If they can successfully confirm it, they’re in line for a Nobel Prize.

lol I couldn’t help reading your posts on WHAP, we’re still on Incas LOL. self study 2-week cram time

We are starting World War II on Thursday.

So I’ve just finished the abstract on one of my research proposals. To think that I have three more after this…

@zanelias - Uh is this a ■■■■■ post or something…

@catchinginfinity - It might not be. The Incas are relatively late in the book though…

@observeraffect - We covered the Incas around October or November this year. Weren’t they in the 15th or 16th century? I guess you could say that’s “relatively late”, but the amount of material from 5000 BCE to 1500 CE is a lot less than the material from 1500 CE onward. Idk, we’re in the 1800s and I still don’t think we’re going to finish on time.

I have a bit of a problem, I was wondering if you guys could help. AP Comparative gov is being offered at my school, but only as a semester course with AP US govt. I want to be able to take the class (with it showing a letter grade on my transcript) and also take the exam. Any suggestions as to what I do?

@afroninja Take both, but it will be harder as you’ll have to return to the AP Comp Gov. material along with studying the US Gov material when it comes to AP exams. It shouldn’t be a problem, as long as you can take good notes and remember the material.

@zanelias @SwaggyC
Yeah we’re doing WWI-WWII now. The Incas is way, way behind.

Dam this world essay is going to suck tomorrow.

^We haven’t even practiced essays in class yet.

Not one essay? We have been doing essays since the first week of school, and they’ve been killing everybody’s grades. They’re worth 25%, and getting a 5 (solid score) on an essay gets you an 75%. In order to get an A, you would have to basically get 100% on all the tests, hw, quizzes, and class work. I’ve managed to pull out an A minus.

My class did 2 comparative essays first trimester, then 2 CCOT essays 2nd tri, and this tri we’re going to do DBQs.

I thought this was the Class of 2016 thread, not the WHAP thread. Also, how many of you are on spring break this week?

nope

My Spring Break was last week…
