High school class of 2016

I think my Spring break is the middle of April

Spring Break right now, anyone else taking AP Euro? My teacher usually gives FRQ’s every two chapters. I’ve done pretty good at them. Mostly 8’s and 8.5’s. I got a 9 on my most recent one. They mix in with my test grade which is 40% of my grade. I’ve only done 3 DBQ’s, first one 8 then second one 7.5. Third one we did right before Spring break, don’t know how well I did.

So I just have series/sequences and differential equations left in AP Calculus

yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

@afroninja26 - None at all lol. We outlined a DBQ earlier in the year, but everybody complained about the topic and the teacher thought our argument was valid, so we just ditched it. :stuck_out_tongue: Whatever, I feel like I’m a decent essay writer and it really all boils down to the information I know about the topic anyway.

My spring break starts April 17th; going to do WHAP review.

Is anyone taking the chem or history SAT II?

I haven’t even taken the SAT yet, i’m planning on doing Physics and Math II when I do the SAT II.

I’ve done math II and bio. I’ll do chem in August or something probably, and maybe even physics if I feel ready.

Are they hard? I hear people get generally higher SAT II scores than regular SAT scores. I’m thinking about CHem but AP Chem might not be offered at my school and I’m not sure if I should still go for it.

Bio isn’t too bad (I only got a 770 though, so what do I know lol). Math II isn’t too bad if you prep for it properly; I recommend Dr. Chung’s and Barron’s for math II. Barron’s is good for bio. As for chemistry, I haven’t even had a chem course yet (doubt it would help, with the chem teacher here), but I’ll teach myself for the chemistry olympiad over the summer, so that’ll knock out my SAT II Chem prep.

Something really awkward happened today. So, there’s this girl that I am in a rivalry with , and we were essentially in fierce competition with one another. However, after a mutual friend relayed some stuff the girl was going through (her parents were pressuring her to go into a STEM field, etc.), I realized that I could empathize with her and talked with her and whatnot. We’re getting along better now, and she told our counselor that “____ and I are becoming friends again.” The counselor told me this today, and she said, “You two would have beautiful babies. They would have beautiful skin, not too dark but not too light, and beautiful black hair.” At that point, I just got up and walked away. ._.

@TeamRocketGrunt How awkward.

@halibo:

I’m in AP Euro. We have an exam every ~2 weeks, and we have 1-2 FRQs and a DBQ per exam. I’ve gotten 9’s on almost all, except for a couple 8’s.

@halibo - I’m taking the SAT II for chem this year (I’m in honors chem right now), but taking AP chem next year. It’s pretty do-able imo.

@TeamRocketGrunt - WHAT :o Are counselors at your school seriously like this…

peeps
i’m getting obliterated in AP US history. My teacher is obsessed with historiography and isn’t nearly as concerned with teaching information as he is about generalizing opinions. he also spends 60% of class time lauding a single student for being attractive.
what do?

I should also mention that my teacher is horrible… we only just finished Reconstruction. :-<

@TeamRocketGrunt - Did you self-study Bio?

i guess nobody reads this thread then

lol I have a teacher who wont curve a test with a 34% average so most people’s grades are f’ed up. Everyone has bad teachers it’s cool
Did anyone make a bracket for March Madness?

@apandia: yes. I basically self-study everything.

@SwaggyC: lol March madness

@catchinginfinity: I don’t mind my counselor being on an informal level with me (in the South, it’s pretty common). She’s really sweet; it’s just that the statement took me by surprise. Not to mention it was pretty awkward lol

@SwaggyC - How did you do on that test?

And, on the discussion of #APWorld, I got a 99.4 in the class this previous quarter. The best in the class by a solid 6 points.

^my grades are March madness…

@TeamRocketGrunt - I’d be avoiding my GC if he ever told me I would have beautiful children with one of my classmates lol. I’m sure your guidance counselor is a great person though. (:
