High school class of 2016

@awakeningvenus
She thinks a lot of people cheat but never actually confronted them or took away their tests. Idk why she would think I cheat since I’m one of the few people with As. I already made my case she said she would think about it. If she doesn’t change her mind I’ll either talk to my counselor and have the people sitting around me tell him what they say or just ask for a different test.

Honestly though using common sense as a teacher. Why would someone who has an A already risk their future for a 97% or a 100%. I’ve had issues with her before but I didn’t think this was possible.

@SwaggyC‌ She can’t say you’re cheating based on “suspicions.” You can always tell the principal that she has no proof

How does this look?
AP Biology
AP Physics 1
AP Calc AB*
Spanish
English (Regular)**
PE (Required)
US History (Regular)**

*I’m taking a Calc class over the summer which will teach me about half the topics of AP Calc AB. I didn’t really want to get ahead of myself by jumping into BC next year. I’m not sure and would LOVE some advice!

**I have the option of taking their AP counterparts, but right now deciding not to because with the amount of ECs I really want to stick my foot into next year, I don’t want to kill myself I don’t really know myself that well to take on that many APs and in my school, once you get in a class, you can’t drop it. QUESTION: For those of you planning to take 4+ APs, how will you manage the workload and ECs?

@PoisonIvy20‌
Are honor level classes an option as well? Instead of taking standard, that would probably be a good idea. And I’m planning to manage my workload by breaking my procrastination habit and starting assignments early while also putting in time over the weekends as well to study. My issue is that I’ll probably be really busy with EC’s at the same time.

@awakeningvenus
Sadly there’s no honors option for English. ~X( I’m not sure about USH, but I’ll find out. Any advice on the Calc option?

@PoisonIvy20‌
I personally agree on not wanting to rush into AP Calculus BC. I think someone should feel really confident to do that, so I’m taking Calculus AB next year too. If you already took Pre-Calculus, I don’t /think/ that it would be necessary to take a Calculus class over summer, but I might buy a review book a bit early so I can start looking into the material instead of jumping in blindly.

Need advice please! I took Spanish 2 Honors freshman year (94%), in order to take AP World Sophomore year I had to take Spanish 3 Regular (96%). I want to move back to Spanish 4 honors next year and study this summer. Will this be super difficult? Is it worth it?

Honestly, depends on the school. Spanish 4 covers a lot more material than 3.

Whoever gave the schedule, here’s mine:

AP US
AP Jun. Eng.
AP Phys. 1
AP Comp Sci (Might do an independent study that goes further)
Span 3 H (Might skip to 4 H as I’m going on Span. trip)
PreCalc H (might study over summer for BC next year)

Well I now have a B in Spanish and gave up on everything. I have an AP Chem mock test tomorrow and all I’ve done to study is watch the Big Bang Theory.

@Meander: Your schedule is looking good! I think skipping Pre-calc, if you can do it, would be a really good idea, although you want to make sure that you’ll understand EVERYTHING since it’s pretty important. An independent study would also be really cool!

@SwaggyC: I’m so sorry about this Spanish mess. :/

Joining in on the schedule fun.

AP Chem
AP Calc AB
AP English 3
Spanish 4 H
APUSH
Debate 3 H
APES
AP Stat

@Almondjoy7 So envious of your debate classes. The nearest thing our school has is Speech, which I’m taking next year. How do you take so many APs? I honestly cannot fathom how anyone can take so many, not only because our school limits the amount one can take, but also how the heck are you going to study and try get a 5 for all of them in on year?

Schedule Bandwagoning:

AP Calculus BC
AP US History
UConn Political Science and Theory
AP English Language
UConn Spanish Literature and Composition
AP World History
AP Art History
AP/UConn Environmental Science
AP Biology
AP Statistics
UConn Puppetry [<—UConn has like the best Puppetry program in the world, and I like to act/write, so I thought it would be fun]

I guess that’s it, but it might change. I’m thinking about taking AP US Government and Politics instead of AP Art History or AP World History, but IDK. I might also take AP Physics C, since I took B this year and will be in Calc BC, but most likely, I’ll just self-study the Mechanics part.

Edit:
I’m also thinking about teaching a course in my school, probably something related to art, philosophy, economics, Asian studies or something. There’s also a course that my school offers called UConn Digital Foundations, and I might take it since it seems really interesting [Media production, so things like television, film and media-journalism. The guy teaching it has a Pulitzer]

@Apollo11 Are you taking all of those APs in your school? or self studying some?

I have a feeling that @TeamRocketGrunt‌’s schedule is going to make me feel pretty bad, but is my schedule in line with what you guys are taking? I haven’t taken any Chemistry, Music or Art classes so far in high school, what about you guys?

@PoisonIvy20‌

Those are all not self studies [Kinda defeats the point, and besides, I’d probably procrastinate too much]. ~8 are at my high school, ~2 are online and the rest are either on-campus at UConn or a local community college

D you need Chem to graduate @ your school @Apollo11

@Almondjoy7‌ Let me know if AP Chem is hard at all. I’m not sure about taking it or not.

@Meander‌
It depends on the teacher.

Anyone doing anything unique and significant? I would do research, but I’m really not a science guy.

^You don’t necessarily have to research science. It could be anything “academic” I think. What’s your fave subject in school?
