thanks!

OOh more applicants! I’m a prospective MITES applicant as well. Lol and also, I am taking AP Physics 1 next year with almost no physics background. So you’re saying the subject test is harder?

@PoisonIvy20 I’m saying that AP Physics 1 doesn’t cover all the topics on the subject test. When it was just AP Physics B, it covered all the topics. Since they’ve split it up into AP Physics 1 and 2, the topics have been split up. The shortest way to do best on the physics subject test is probably to take honors physics, and study the one or two things you didn’t learn for the subject test. I really want to take AP Physics 1 and 2 though. I wish they just kept it has one course.

I’m self studying physics C E&M this year, wish me luck.

I have no idea ■■■ everyone’s been talking about for the last 6 pages…

For all the physics people, I took the B/SATII this year and the sat II a pretty good spread of topics with a slight a little more weight on mechanics. However, even the harder topics like electrostatics are only tested with fairly basic questions on the test. So if you’re taking Physics 1 I would encourage you to try self-studying the basic concepts that aren’t covered in your class and take the test.

@Animefan1998 Glad I’m not the only one. I know almost nothing about politics, which is kind of embarrassing.

@tobukoro Thanks! I have it second semester, so I guess I’ll get a prep book and study the concepts I don’t know in May.

Hi, I’m new here so I’m not sure how this works. Can I just post a question and then people will respond to it?

@sccon99 Yeah. Unless you have an urgent question, I suggest browsing the different posts from all the categories, so when you have a question, you know where to post it. Are you class of 2016?

Oh ok thanks. Yes I am.

@sccon99 welcome to CC! :D

@sccon99: Welcome!!

I just got back from a 2.5 week trip abroad. Let me just say: jet lag sucks. And US customs is craaaaazy.

Anyone doing any high school schedule planning for siblings?

@Woandering we have a S19. No planning for him yet. I predict if he makes Jazz band he’ll follow D16’s college prep schedule exactly.

@kandcsmom No need to worry your son (?) yet, but if your daughter has done some research, going to her for advice for your son would be a good idea, since she’s going to experience quite a bit of this college stuff. She can pass on information about her regrets.

I know a few of us on this thread regret self studying an easy or interesting AP in our freshman years, when we had a ton of free time (compared to later years). I had never heard about self studying in Freshman, so I’m now encouraging my sister to self study something she likes.

Your daughter would also know about the teachers at her school (presuming they will attend the same high school). For example, since my sister wants to learn AP Computer Science, I’m encouraging her to self study it with an online program, because the teacher at our school isn’t so good at teaching.

Basically, I’m trying to make sure my sister won’t have the same regrets I do (taking CS in school, not self studying freshman year, etc.)

Sorry I thought this was th Class of 16 parent thread!
<–ducks out of thread

Class of 16!

@comput1 Welcome!

hey! just found this thread and not really sure what it’s for…but hello!

how have y’all been doing on your summer assignments? I’ve been busy all summer and just started today… this will be fun :-/

@lanflan - So behind on my summer homework. I’m simultaneously doing research at a lab and I usually don’t get home until 7pm, and by then, I’m exhausted. Not excited for next year at all.
