High school class of 2016

UT Austin instate safety

I live in Virginia so my safeties are JMU, GMU, VCU, etc.

My safety will be California State University, Long Beach - I’m in their local guaranteed admission area. But I’m hoping to go to a different university for a whole new experience and explore more of California. :)

I’m constantly looking for a school that is “just barely” a safety, that I really like. Do you guys think a 40% acceptance rate, in general, is a safety for a top-tier hopeful? (In terms of admission only)

@Woandering Depends on the school, the amount of people applies, and their criteria for admission. An acceptance rate is one thing unless if it’s maybe 10%-20% but for sure less than 9.99%.

@elefish92 Sorry, don’t understand that. What are you trying to say?

took the act today, thought it was pretty easy

I am now the proud owner of one messed-up right ankle.

TRG wants a cracker
I think school should get off him first
I think he wants some water
To put out the blowtorch

Kind of off topic but did anyone read Blood of Olympus

@LordBendtner‌
I can’t read.

@LordBendtner‌ No, but I want to. Is it good?

@LordBendtner‌
I just ordered it today.

@ThatPurpleKoala‌ In my opinion, it was the worst of the 10 books.

Example, if a college has admission priority to students in their area then it’ll be more difficult for the students out of that area. CSU Long Beach opens priority admission to surrounding districts, therefore admission would be way harder if you were not enrolled in those statistics. But if it’s a college that has no priority admission, then everyone would have an equal chance and therefore that 40% would be accurate. Also you need to compare yourself with the rest of the class, if the average is 3.75 and your gpa is a 3.0, then it’s not a safety. But if you see people getting accepted with a 3.0 gpa and you have a 3.75 gpa then you it is a safety.

It all really depends.

This post was made when we were 8th graders and now we’re junior?!?!? Time flies!!!

@elefish92 Okay, but that doesn’t answer my question.

Just want some insight, I’m thinking of applying to private boarding schools and transferring from my public school. I know we’re already juniors but I have a relative who’s applying and looking at these schools, and they look amazing! Schools like Philips Andover, Choate, Hotchkiss etc. And they do accept people in every grade including post grad. When I was applying to schools I didnt even know about private schools so now I’m just feeling like “what if?” and “why not?” Idk, I’m seriously considering applying.

@Woandering If you wanted an answer from me, then yes.

@elefish92 I just assumed you were answering my question, since you tagged me.
