High school class of 2016

I bought gift cards and holiday cards (blank ones so I wouldn’t be stuck with a generic Hallmark message, lol) for all of my most favorable teachers (…actually, 2 of them, lolol). Then I went to deliver the one I bought for another staff member (he missed the whole week before break and just came back) and I forgot the huge crush I have on him then probably sounded dumb by the amount of times I tripped over my own words. I just gave him the envelope and left after embarrassing myself. That was so awkward, lmao.

Me: I just realized my interview with Northwestern is tomorrow and it’ll be my first time since I got my license yesterday I’ll be allowed to drive somewhere…
Brain: “Prepare for trouble and make it double!!!”
Me:
Brain:

@icantdance Good luck on your interview! And be careful while driving.

@XoXdreamerXoX Thank ya!

My school has so many AP classes compared to you guys…we have around 20 :0

@chubii Same. We have:

*AP Biology
*AP Calculus AB (for those who failed precalc)
*AP Calculus BC (for those who passed precalc)
*AP Chemistry
*AP Computer Science A
*AP English Language and Composition
*AP English Literature and Composition
*AP French Language and Culture (…they sit in the back of a French I class and basically do independent study)
*AP German Language and Culture (same as French situation)
*AP Human Geography
*AP Macroeconomics
*AP Music Theory
*AP Physics 1: Algebra-based
*AP Physics 2: Algebra-based
*AP Psychology
*AP Spanish Language and Culture
*AP Spanish Literature and Culture (depends on demand. This year, not many wanted to take it, so it doesn’t exist. Maybe it will again next year)
*AP Statistics
*AP Studio Art (don’t know which one)
*AP United States Government and Politics
*AP United States History
*AP World History

Only about 5 of these will actually get you a passing grade on the exam though. They’re mostly created because the more AP exams we take, the more money the district gets, no matter what our scores are. So they don’t really care about who they staff on AP as long as the course exists and as long as there are kids that want to get the ranking points or have an interest in the course.

At my school, AP Physics C is both Mech and E&M, AP Econ is both Micro and Macro, and AP English is both Lit & Lang, so they’re all two exams. But yeah, AP Physics felt like being hit by an eighteen wheeler. (Econ and Lit are like SUVs so it’s alr)

Did anyone see Kanye’s audition for American Idol? I love that man

Woah, that’s a lot of AP classes. #:-S
Maybe my school’s size has to do with it’s shortage of AP classes: My senior class is only made up of 74 students.

The only class I’ve ever wanted is an AP Calc course, but my school can’t provide it. We only have 5 AP courses and they all suck. I don’t think any student passed an AP test last year.

Maybe size has to do with it too. We have 4300 kids.

We have around 2200 kids, but the pass rate on all of our tests are pretty high… except chemistry after the new teacher started a couple years ago…

People on site (not you guys) are irritating.
If I post threads asking about a school’s culture, it somehow turns into people saying “No, apply to ___ instead”.
If I say “I’m not interested in attending school in ___”, people ignore that!

My first post-Winter Break test is tomorrow. Honestly, I’m surprised my teachers waited a whole 5 days.

I had an English quiz yesterday, a physics quiz today and math and Spanish quizzes tomorrow

Our school has about 2900-3000 students and same situation @XoXdreamerXoX . Our school doesn’t really care about whether we pass but more about the money they get from the students taking it.

Haha, at least the money from the AP exams we took got my school new projectors.

I hate that my school makes all students (including seniors) take the AP exam for every AP class they are enrolled in, and they make us pay for all of them ($92 a pop!). We’re basically doing them a favor as seniors by taking the exams, doing well, and helping the school raise its overall ranking. It’s especially annoying 'cause some colleges don’t take certain AP credits (or none at all), so taking those exams senior year is just pointless.

Is it bad that it’s 2 days in the semester and I don’t even know what I learned in Physics and we already have a lab and WebAssign up? Like, senioritis hit soooo hard. Last semester, I thought to myself: “It’s okay. I can survive this.” This semester: “Please, someone give me a clone of myself so I can force him to do my work!”

@AMan236 Haha, I’ve been holding the thought you started having this semester for the past two years.

Sorry if this is a dumb question. Are the reviews on college.niche unreliable?
I’ve read great things about schools that are “terrible” according to CC. Now, I’m wondering if Eastern Nazarene is better than I’ve read on niche.
