High school class of 2016

My brother once received a -8% on a Spanish test. So proud of him.

@debate4ever The FAFSA is free…make sure you’re using FAFSA.gov. NEVER use FAFSA.COM! (if it still exists?)

Lol. We can get a -1400 on our final research paper.

I figured it out. I was confusing fafsa with CSS for a sec lol. Thanks guys

@anon9362 Lol! Somehow I made it through Spanish 1 with an A. Now I am in Spanish 2 and I received an A my first semester. I don’t even understand how because I can’t comprehend 75% of the words. The tests/quizes are multiple choice and I always guess on most of it. I’m always surprised when I get one back and I have greater than a 75% on it. We have a quiz on Friday and out of the 24 words we were told to memorize last week (body parts), I only know 3. I’m so done with Spanish after this year.

What’s this IDOC thing we have to fill out? College Board hasn’t emailed me yet, and I know for sure that many of my schools require it.

@glasshours We have to scan and upload the tax returns to send to them. I signed on before getting an email but I think that was a bad idea lol. I’m missing one school from the college list because of that maybe.

Lol. I went YOLO and uploaded all of my stuff before Cornell appeared on my list. I just needed to get it out of the way.

I have a fun conversation topic for us. Today my English class went to go see “extreme hip hop poetry” at Lincoln Center. What’s the weirdest field trip you guys have been on?

@anon9362 We went to a park during health science last year. To actually play on swingsets, slides, monkey bars, etc. There was really no explanation behind it, either. It’s weird because it’s something entirely unexpected.

Well that must have been fun

@Ngzk07 - Haha, I’m scared to start it because it says “you MUST receive an email before entering this site” in bold letters :stuck_out_tongue: Oh well, deadline’s soon, so might as well just start. Thanks!

Edit: Ugh, it’s down now.

Oops. I submitted stuff. Well, the worst that could happen is they make me start over.

@anon9362 It wasn’t really a field trip, but we had to do a health survey in a park near my school. It was really weird interviewing strangers at 8:30 AM, haha.

Just checked my grades…probably could get anywhere from 5 As and 1 B to 2 As 4 Bs. Not as bad as I thought it’d be and probably not rescinding worthy but a noticeable drop off. Seriously how are you guys staying motivated. It takes a huge effort just to show up nowadays.

…I have a 79 in AP Chem. A 92 in Bio, which I just brought up from an 85. Besides that, I’m at 99s and 100s. I need to re-allocate my efforts to bring up those two. AP Chemistry is definitely killing me.

Hey,you guys I have a show to recommend to you guys and actually perhaps some of you guys have already seen it.It’s an Amazon Original Show called Mozart in the Jungle and it’s really good/funny.Each show is about 30 mins.I highly recommend it because each episode has a really good message. So yeah!

I got all As & Bs, except in sociology. I actually got a D+! (My teacher didn’t let me make up my test for five weeks, then took off 40 points for lateness…?)

I’ve been at my high school for four years and yet EVERY day my name gets mangled by the adults. It’s a perfectly common Anglicized name, but they mysteriously shorten it into another name altogether, call me a somewhat similar name, or completely different names. And this happens every day, even from adults who’ve known me for years!

Does anyone know any good news posts or journalism things that accept student submissions?
