@athenanv13 SAME YOU HAVE NO IDEA
They give us so much hw here that 80% of what I learn seems to be short term memory
Don’t stress, you guys! Just try looking forward to that lovely break we’ll all be getting very soon. Try not to stress about exams and instead use that reminder of winter break coming up be a good motivator to keep on truckin’ STEAMROLL THROUGH THESE LAST FEW DAYS! YEAHHHH!!!
It’s funny-- I certainly don’t like exam season, but there’s something charming about it. The lack of homework means that my time is my own, to control and distribute however I would like, and it feels nice to recognize how much I’ve learned over the course of the semester.
@pseudoprimal That’s a lovely way to view exams. All I can see about exams so far is that it starts next Wednesday and ends on the 22nd. Another thing I can see about exams is that the AP Art History class takers are hanging back after the exam half day that Wednesday to take our exam. All 11 of us. Dx
I have midterms in late January too. Wish I had them now, have a competition the weekend before midterms and the one after. >.<
@deeeznuts Such productivity
Did you guys think the math section of the PSAT was unsettlingly easy? I’m afraid the curve will be really cutthroat, even more so than the old SAT, because it seemed wayyyy easier than the old SAT math. The reading section seemed quite a bit harder though…
I don’t even have midterms this year at my school. Apparently they got rid of them because we waste too many days on standardized testing.
@Studious99 Same!! The math (especially the non-calculator) was a lot easier than the official practice test, but the reading was pretty hard (compared to the official test), and writing was pretty easy too - they’ll probably have a nonexistent math curve then
I really can’t wait until we get our PSAT scores back! It is shocking to me that it actually counts this time…
My school made everyone take it starting in freshman year, so it is really weird to think back to freshman me taking it for the first time. Oh, young naive me!
@Studious99 The PSAT math was very easy for me but some of my friends and people on twitter were complaining about how hard it was so it will most likely have a very interesting curve…
@foliontai same! freshman me was intimidated by functions because f(x) just looked so mathy and intimidating back then apparently
@Studious99 I also thought the PSAT math section was way easier than I expected it to be. However, I know many people had a lot of trouble with the non-calculator section, so I really don’t know what to expect in terms of a curve.
Anyone know when we actually get our results?
@foliontai The rumors on CollegeConfidential apparently from dubious test-prep companies say that the results will be sent via an online access code from email starting the 13-14th and continuing through the 18th of December. The actual collegeboard website says that scores come out late December/early January. It’s likely that it will be a while before the school receives our scores and distributes those handy little packets that say where you stack up with your peers, but we will probably get the scores long before that.
ED results start coming out tomorrow. Hoping my friends fair well.
@FrigidCold I have an older sister who will be getting her response from Columbia tomorrow, and I can’t even imagine what she or any other current seniors are going through right now. That’ll be us in one year…
Anyway, I bought a tub of her favorite ice cream and hid it in our freezer. Hopefully, I’ll be pulling it out for celebration not commiseration!
Tbh, I thought that the Math sections were easier, but more time constraining. Hence, a lot of people made careless mistakes, including me (Oh lawd, I made a whole bunch of em). For reading, it was like hell. It was nothing compared to what was on the practice test. Before we started the test, I told myself, “Aight, just chill, and it will go fine. Just clear your mind of everything,” and the second I opened the booklet and saw Spanish, I was like oh hell nah! That frederick douglass passage got me real good too. Anyways for the writing, it was easy, but I lost time at the end so I ended up guessing 3 questions.
hahaha, I’m not going to lie. I must have read that spanish paragraph at least 3-4 times before moving on.
On the later date (the 28th), the reading section was actually easier than the practice test. I still probably did bad though :-/
Who’s constantly checking the final grade calculator? I don’t know if it makes me more confident or anxious
I have a 90 in APUSH going into the midterm … stress at its finest.
@jjlundy haha, that is totally me! My grade is at an 89.5 (which is considered an A at my school because teachers are required to push it up) for IB Euro, IB French, and IB Physics. *sigh
