High School Class of 2017

@athenanv13 I have too lol. I need a 90% or higher on my calc final and an A on my AP Lang project & essay (each worth 20%). I am so done.

i’m so glad we don’t have finals until January here… but then I wish that I could have them over with going into break

The College Board just announced that they are going to release the PSAT scores in January instead of December 14th like was previously said. Great.

Wow, that is really annoying! I really wanted to know my score, so I could plan whether to take the old SAT in Jan (which I’m not prepared for) or the new one in March.

Oh well, it is not as if College Board has a very good track record recently. We probably should have anticipated them screwing this up…

Same! It depends on my PSAT score if I’m going to take the January SAT but I guess not…

Lol I despise the College Board.

Has anybody here taken AP Psychology online from BYU?

So my IB class is really small (like 25 juniors when there are 550 juniors at my school). Now there is a lot of relationship drama. sigh it sucks since we have the spend the next two years with the same people. People are shipping each other (it means proposing couples for relationships (according to my friends I’m living under a rock for not knowing what it means until two days ago)). Guess who’s a victim sigh

Me. They are pairing me up with someone that just gives me the shivers. So much drama with small groups

@athenanv13 This is the first time you’re experiencing this? This is like a daily occurance at my school, haha.

Haha…I guess I DO live under a rock. With 550 people, no one knew me besides my closest friends. Now I’m freaking out because my class size decreased 95%.

Guys…is it possible for a semester grade to be lower than both quarter grades? Bc semester grades is the avg between the two quarter grades, and although it can favor one number (depending on if there’s a disproportionate amount of tests in one), it’s not possible for an avg to be lower than the two given values…right?

I’m about to tell my teacher off. He’s ridiculous

@athenanv13 My school is an AP school, so I have a question about IB if you don’t mind. Do you have the same 25 people in all of your classes? Is that the group you are forced to spend the entire day with?

@foliontai my school is both an IB school and an AP school. AP is more popular because past ib kids told others to not take it because it’s super hard (I honestly don’t think it’s that bad). So since so few in my school choose to take it, I just have the same people in all my classes. I don’t like to think of it as “forced” because I enjoy being in a small group. You get to know people better…until drama starts…haha

I go to a school that has IB and AP but we don’t have the same people in our classes. I think there are maybe 100 IB full diploma kids but in most of my classes there are a lot of non-IB students because some non-IB students take IB classes and some IB kids take non-IB classes (or classes that count as AP and IB, like AP Calc BC, which also counts as IB HL Math Year 1).

Is anyone in AP capstone/research??
I’m doing independent research since my district doesn’t offer capstone, but I’m trying to mimic the research format of it anyways.
Has anyone DONE research before??? I know my topic and everything, I just don’t know where to start…

//sees all the seniors getting into ivies & equivalents
//sees other juniors getting into ivies & equivalents
//cries

@tonystarkofwinterfell I feel the exact same way!

@athenanv13 YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW HOW SHIPPING FEELS OKAY im a junior and ive been shipped with the same. damn. guy. in my grade SINCE THE FIRST WEEK OF FRESHMEN YEAR!!! two and a half years and they aren’t stopping kms

@ZBlue17 I don’t see how that would be possible if the quarters remain separate, but if your teacher weights categories and combines them to get the semester grade (i.e. ignores quarter grades in the final calculation) that could certainly change things up. Also, I know some teachers at my school round quarter grades but not semester ones, if that has any bearing.

I’ve heard so many terrible things about how hard full IB is. At my school we only have AP. It’s awesome because you pick the AP classes you want to take, and I believe there is less emphasis on “busy work” at least at my school. Also, I would pick AP Calc AB and BC over IB Math Studies any day
