@frazzedazzle the first two things was stuff I actually got wrong on the test, I know how to do it but its kinda shoved in the back of my mind and going quickly and test stress didn’t help with that. Yet I somehow managed to still get a 710 on that section :))
@snowfairy137 I don’t really get worried for standardized tests. I just make basic mistakes, also. I thought I did pretty well despite omitting a question. I bombed the CR/W section. That’s a great section score!
@frazzledazzle thanks! I don’t really get nervous beforehand cause I’ve always tested really well but for me there’s always the moments of “wait … do I have enough time for this?” and “why don’t I understand this problem? what’s going on?” and “wait did I mess up on that problem two questions ago?” that creeps up during the tests.
@snowfairy137 the last old sat will be held on january 23rd this year.
@thetex oops, sorry, I just did a quick google search. If you know what you’re doing then good for you.
did anyone else get the last two on the math with calculator wrong? they were grid-ins and I didn’t know that we could leave our answers in decimal form so I put 47 when the answer was 46.8 and 38 when the answer was 38.8 :((
Just wondering, what do you do with your NMSC Selection Index? :s is there anything I can do now to see what kind of scholarships would be available (assuming i do just as well next year)?
@av2222 I got the second to last right but the last wrong
ok so i ended up omitting 13 answers ASFGJKLA;NF 4 on Reading and 3 for all the other sections
@LosingCrayon
You should never omit questions on the new PSAT or SAT.
You won’t lose points so just GUESS.
(Educated guesses of course.)
@IAmNotCreativ Yeah, I know I honestly just ran out of time on all the sections
I used to always run out of time, but now when I see a question I don’t understand I just skip it and come back later which is probably advice you’ve heard before :P.
Also have you seen the posts by @LosigCrayon.
@thetex On the new PSAT, the score ranges are different. 160 to 760 for each individual category, 320 to 1520 overall.
@IAmNotCreativ Oh wow o_o that’s kinda weird, I’ve never seen that before
Grade Update:
Computer Math - A
Pre-AP English 10 - B
Pre-AP World History - B
Spanish I - B+
Pre-AP Chemistry - B
Algebra II - B+
HPE I - B+
I am at an 86% right now in Chemistry and it kind of annoys me. I am so close to a B+ and all I need to finish my homework due Monday and it will be an 87% least. Other than that it’s fine.
@ak2018 Do +'s and -'s factor into your GPA at your school?
Has anyone else been looking at the AP recommendations based on their PSAT scores? My top ones are mostly English or history, which makes sense to me, but I also got three dots for AP Environmental Science, Statistics, and Music Theory, which really don’t. How do you even measure potential for AP Music Theory on a standardized test?
Also, is AP Stats usually considered an easier AP? I don’t know if I would really be able handle it, but since I’m taking Pre-Calc next year, maybe senior year I could take it. However, my school also offers regular Statistics, which would probably make more sense for me.
Who else didn’t take the PSAT this year? I feel like I am the only one.
(this thread really got bombed though after the scores were in, lol)
The real question is why the freshmen are more active than us.
@HelloThereHola It is because we spend our time actually doing stuff instead of talking about it online. :)) Just kidding, but this year seems busier than last year.
Yes they do @LeopardFire . However, we only have +'s, no -'s. It goes A, B+, B, C+, C, D+, and F. +'s are worth an extra .4 point on GPA
@aspiringgirl lets go with that.
No mobile always deletes everything!
@aspiringgirl I agree, and I’m not really taking a “heavy” course load. Next year is going to be much more busier because it is the last year to make it count for colleges, well maybe the first semester of senior year also
I’m dying in AP Human Geography because the teacher is stupid
